Last month I got my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500-serviced at mechanic. He told me I needed new brakes soon but b/c of financial reasons I haven't got them fixed. They've been fine up until recently when I noticed-when pressing on brake it made a screeching/grinding nose from front. Also, my left front tire is emitting a rusty color debris-which I think my be from brakes? I know I need to get them fixed, but do you think I can drive with them for a little longer?

Guess what?

"b/c of financial reason" you will now pay at least twice what you would have last month!

NO DON"T DRIVE UNTIL IT IS FIXED!!!!!!!

Killing yourself is one thing, but you may kill someone else as well!

Definately not a good idea to put off a brake job. If the brake pad itself deteriorates completely on one side, you no longer are wearing pad material, you are wearing metal off the caliper itself, which probably will result in you needing THAT replaced too, in addition to the pads. Pads cost around 20 bucks from Autozone or another place like that, just find someone (co-worker perhaps) who can do it, and offer them some beer, or some sort of compensation. Your safety is far more important than saving money trying to keep brakes running forever.

no more than 50 miles in the city or 125 on the highway, cuz the brake pads are down to the metal, and when you have to slam on the brakes when its down to the metal you are risking a slip of the metal and they could fail; also you now need to increase your following distance or else you may end up n a an accident

No ...you shouldnt drive it any farther..The brake pads are shot and thats why it's squealing.Better get them done now before you gotta replace the rotors.
