I'm a perpetually broke uni student and I'm finding too much of my money is going into petrol. so what are some ways that I can change my driving so that i save petrol?

I have to drive down a clogged up arterial twice a day 3 times a week.

Hello all,

I'm about to buy a 2001 Freelander Serenghetti Edition.with the Hardback for the princely sum of £4000.00
Can anyone give me some buying advice? It's the 1.8 K series engine wich I know has head gasket trouble, but that doesnt bother me (i drive an MGF which went 80k without blowing it, besides). It's only covered 34000 miles (owned by a rich mans wife and was used to walk the dog and do lunch!) with a full history and appears to be in A1 condition with the exception of a scratched boot interior from the dog.

I'm buying it because I go on and off building sites a lot (not becuase I need achelsea tractor!), so I dont need the diesel model to pull anything, and the Japanese alternatives look so damn agricultural next to the reelander, not to mention they're considerably pricier the the Hippo.

Do they have any particular areas I need to pay special attention to other than the obvious head gasket woes?

Thanks in advance

I have a diesel and was told if I drove at around 56mph on the motorway, I would use a lot less diesel than driving at 70mph. Is this true? And is 56mph the best speed for this?

I have a 1995 ford ranger 2.3 - 5 speed. The problem I'm having is this. After the truck is driven a couple miles or so, my clutch will not disenage when the clutch pedal is press. Therefore i can not put the truck into any gear. If I let it sit awhile the problems goes away. Or if i bleed the slave cylinder the problem goes away until if drive for a little while. I think that slave cylinder is bad (leaking) but i am not sure. If the slave cylinder is bad will i have to disconnect the bell housing to change it.

Hi, I'm buying a wrx 05 in november this year and I would like to know the difference bet a twin muffler and single, i had a 99 wrx a couple years ago and put the 2 and half inch from the cat back i think and got the cannon exhaust, that was loud, i was wondering if i got the cat back 2 1/2 and a twin muffler would that be much quiter then the cannon, i dont want it to be noisy in the mornings but when i give it i want the perring sound to be there aswell. so really would the twin be half the noise as the cannon? and would it make much noise diff if i didnt get the catback and got the muffler ???? thanks for you time :)

Take into consideration that both of the subs are both the same brand and same model.

Lets take into consideration a JL Audio 12w7 vs. (2) 10w7?

Which will sound cleaner? Louder?

Thanks

What am I doing wrong to attract the attention I am getting. I think I am a victim of road rage, but I think it might be me that is raging against everyone else.

This morning for example on my 7 mile commute. The car infront wasn't signalling and was crawling over speed bumps at 5mph in a 30 zone. I was getting flustered but I didn't make any aggressive manouvers until he slammed on his brakes at a corner. I drove round him and honked my horn.

Later I was brake tested after overtaking a truck. I followed the car infront in an overtaking manouver and pulled in behind him and he slammed on the brakes. I managed to remain calm during that one as I was a bit perplexed as to his reasons.

Finally I lost it when a guy wouldn't let me overtake. I came up behind his at a set of corners where he was doing 40mph. He immediately slammed on his brakes down to 25mph and remained at that speed until there was a clear piece of road ahead. I then tried to overtake, but he accelerated

My Hyundai has 150,000 miles and the first owner beat it to hell. It burns alot of oil; everything else is fine. If I told a mechanic to "rebuild" my engine, what will they exactly do? What kind of parts are recommended that I change when rebuilding an engine? How much will it cost on average?

I have recently gotten a ticket in California (Barstow District). On the ticket, some of the information is written incorrect... year of car, model of car. The cop put that I own a 2007 Infiniti Skyline... I have a 2005 Infiniti G35. Yes... my car has the Skyline badges from Japan... but the cop has to properly write what is on the paperwork (registration and insurance card).

I have previously gotten a ticket in Nevada where he had 5 mistakes: My last name (4 of the 6 letters were wrong), year, make, model and plate #. I gave the ticket to a lawyer and was thrown out. Problem is... I don't want to pay the legal fee again for something I could do... so I was going to do a Written Declaretion.

I am wondering what is the legal term and if anyone knows the legal # of that law? So anything will help. Thanks.

Add you must know... 75 in a 70.
