on timing my car for a new belt I discovered that the intermediate shaft does not line up with the marks on the camshaft and the crankshaft yet the cars runs well. what is the purpose of the shaft?

I was a victim of a head on collison in 05-04 a pick up truck had crossed over the median of a two lane highway coming from the opposite direction I suffered many back injuries including herniated discs, and bulging discs, severe neck pain, a torn ligament in my ankle, and was diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder. Perhaps the most major thing was my head went through the windshield causing me to have permanent disfigurement to my forhead... I have a dent in my forhead that will not go away without surgery. With plastic surgery it will only leave me with another scar even worse then the one I have, Its something that will be there for the rest of my life. the driver was 100% at fault. Car was demolished. My lawyer said were asking for 100-150,000 my mother is freaking because she says that, that is not enough, I could have died and truthfully I have all these things i will have to deal with for the rest of my life and im only 24. I believe that I should be getting more.

I would think that all the traffic on Highways , there would be a layer of Rubber on the pavement, where is all the rubber from the tires gone too.

There is a two lane road one going one direction, the other going in another direction. I was pulling into the gas station, so i putted onmy blinker and stop. Because I had to wait for the traffic to clear so i can get into the gas station. There was a truck behind me and was in a little bit of a rush, so he decided to go around me , over the little white line. i didnt see him over there and plus he wasnt suppose to be over there. i than realize and changed my mind that i really dont need gas right now. when i took off my blinker off and proceeded to go straight. our trucks met. if i didnt have inspection on my truck. Could i still sue that person for there wrong doing and for me having pain in my neck and back.

I am installing a kenwood stereo (model KDC-6015) into my 1991 chevy s-10. I need to know what all the wires are for. Which colors do what? And then which ones do I connect them to inside the truck? I just took out the stock stereo, so it has all the original wiring.

Luckily, this question is just hypothetical. My car is fine. But having just paid big bux to insure it, I'm wondering which blue book value my insurer would use to determine how much to pay in event of a claim.

KBB.com has a trade-in, private party and dealer rate, in order from low to high, and they differ by a few thousand dollars. Also, would insurers take my word for the condition the car was in or do they always assume Good condition?

I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am. My car was cutting off on me so I had the alternator replaced on 11/8. I thought it was fixed but when I woke up Saturday and was putting oil in it, I noticed my belt on the side of the alternator (I am not sure of the correct name) was hanging on the ground. I called ths hop where I had the alternator installed and they told me to bring it back in. I did that yesterday. Again, I assumed it was fixed. Today, I was driving it and it had the same symptoms as before, my service lights would flash and the car would stop and then turn right back on. Not really a stall. Also, the speedometer went all the way over to the max speed and was stuck there. I was too scared to drive it back home so I left it. Does anyone think it could still be the alternator or just bad mechanic work? Help!!!

i accidently added window washing fluid into my radiator (only about 1/4cup of diluted water and washing fluid). Can anyone tell me if this is going to affect my engine - should I try and remove the water? Thanks

I saw some neigborhood kids goofing around on the RR tracks by putting rocks and rail spiles on the tracks. I heard a train go by so I guess it was OK, but can these derail a train. I would guess not since people are always putting stuff on these tracks and there's never been a problem (I'm actually more worried about them being hit - their parents are just happy to have them away from the house). Whats the biggest thing that you saw someone place on the rails?????? Did anything happen?
