Yamaha 850 was an 850 cc , 4 cycle, three cylinder . It was the descendant of the Yamaha 750 triple. Not a particularly special bike, but not a bad one. It made good torque, average hp, around 65. Bike was very heavy, and not a really good handler. a bit top heavy as well. Shaft drive, small tank for the mileage it got. They made a few XS850 Specials, Black with gold trim, mag wheels. Seat A little tall for a cruiser. This bike went away when the next generation of four cylinder Yamahas came out, lighter, faster, better handling.

They were built like tanks. Very smooth, solid and reliable with good performance. Heavier than other bikes.
