I have a 96 Chev. Lumina. Today it didnt want to start, but after a few minutes of trying, it eventually did. There is power to the lights/radio, so the battery is ok. I dont think its the alternator because I had that replaced about a year ago. From what I can gather, it might be the starter? How should I go about fixing this? Can I do it myself or should I just take it in? Thanks, I know so little about all this. :)

on this solenoid there are two letters and two posts when you turn key on wipers work but wont start and it has a new starter its difficult because i dont know where coil wire should go or how it should be hooked up same with ground and positive cables to battery but the coil gets hot when key is on also .

I have no defrost. I am hoping someone may guide me to a flow chart of sorts. I have some very good responses to my basic Q and want to try and find something vivid to respond on resolving my problem.
My basic thought is there should be a way,what with the year and model-make of my car. It doesn't seem reasonable that there is not an alternate available.

the car is stock , I can't figure it out Put a new Oxygen sensor in last year. New fuel pump also. When new plugs are put in it runs perfect no skipping runs smooth. Thought it may be timing but it would do the same thing even with new plugs

I need help programing my keyless entry for a 2000 nissan xterra, i tried going by the instructions and inserted the key more than 6 times in less that 10 seconds but nothing happened, i cannot go on from there. had the car fixed about a year ago and my buddy said that the turbo could be bad due to the loud noise if i find out it is bad how much does it cost to fix or get a new one and also it does have different power level when driving but i live in michigan and i think a lot of it is due to weather and the cold also before my buddy fixed it i took it to the vw dealership and they ran it through there computer had a print out and they never said anything about a bad turbo and drove it said there was nothing major wrong and my buddy only changed the belt and cleaned the engine oil build up
