Is it wise?
Or would you wait when they're going down in price?
Let say in 3 years, which one will be more efficient and profitable? Hybrid or Regular cars?

i don't think right now hybrids are a wise choice. time still has to tell how they last and how reliable a higher mileage car they will be. another big disadvantage is that only the dealerships have the capacity to fix them and even that i hear is limited.they are great on gas and are a promising step in the future of automobiles, but this baby is too newborn to tell how it will grow up.

It takes years to pay for the increased price through gas savings. Also we don't know what the maintenance and repair issues with these vehicles will be down the road.

Give it five years and you'll see hybrids giving regular cars competition in sales.

I'd take the gasoline car. Hybrids are still not as efficient as they can be. If you want, in 2007, diesel econoboxes will be hitting North America...get +40mpg in the city. But diesel right now is higher than premium. Hopefully as diesel becomes used more here, the prices will go down. Or get a diesel already available here, like the VW Golf TDi...

the oil companies will do what they have to to stay on top in the energy gas will be what the market can bear the type of car you have wont matter
