Got a windshield for my 53 Chevy at a junk yard but it has a rust stain going vertically down the center. What products or whatever would be best to use to get it off?

I recently ruined my front, passenger side tire and rim by driving over a cement block. I am using a spare tire.

A mechanic tells me that my lower control arm needs to be replaced. While driving to buy the car from the dealer, my car shuts off while waiting to pull out of a driveway and again at a stop sign.

I simply restart the car the first time; but the second time, I have to pump the gas vigourously while turning the key.

My TCS (traction control system) light flashes on and off. I don't know if my car is in need of a tuneup or if the spare tire being crooked (b/c of the damaged lower control arm) is affecting the TCS so that car goes into "limp home mode".

I cleaned the battery terminals today before driving the car and it did not shut off. (I'm thinking that's just a coincidence.)

Last week, before wheel damage, while driving the car, the Radio/CD player shut off and would not play above the volume of a whisper. Now it works. Related?

98F-150 v6 4.2L
It starts just fine. After I have its started the motor revs up and down 4-5 times then it sooths out just a little..
Let me start by saying I replaced both my 02 sensers,Throttle position sensor,Air Idle control valve, fuel filter, and Plugs and wires and it still wont run smooth.the rough idle is noticable in park, worse in drive when waiting at a light thats when it idle down and I have to put it in neutral to keep it from stalling.I had it put on a machine and no codes came up at all.Looks like I will have to bring it in to the shop but would like a little advice from anyone that thinks might be my problem..

Hi, I have a 1977 Dodge Van b200 (automatic) series. I went to get it smogged and it failed the visual inspection. (Actually it failed alot more then that and got gross polluter, oops.....I found one of the plugs wasn't sparking, aw well, live and learn).
The folks at the shop were in a hurry and had no desire to answer my questions about the visual inspection notes.

I just was looking for more detail about their report on the visual inspection.

Can anyone interpret this:

Dashpot appears to be missing

Air intake disconnected from solenoid

Carb appears to be replaced (I know what this means, hehe)

I was looking through my Chiltons and it seemed to indicate that a dashpot is for a manual van, but considering I have no idea what this is......

Any suggestion for a lay-person-wanna-be mechanic-working
on-my-own-van type?

Thanks a bunch!

I recently went to North Carolina and purchased a used car for my neice. I had a mechanic go over the car. There were no problems. Now it is a week later and the car is skipping. I called the dealership and told him that either he fix it, replace it, or give my money back. I told him that it had not been 30 days yet. He says that it does not matter because in NC that the lemon law only applies to new cars.Is this true?

Something like packets of hot cocoa, where the outer wrap is paper, and the inner is foil. Packets would be clearly marked as food, what kind of food, and the manufacturer.
