Yes, they can be run on pump gas....premium is the recomended kind.

As far as the dude above me saying its a "integra engine" he clearly knows nothing about Honda engines. The internals are completly different from a standard integra engine. The B16B may have less power then a B18C5 but, for example, the cams are totally different grinds. The B16B has a more aggressive degree than ANY integra cam. Its populare to take the cams out of the B16B and put them in any other B-series engine due to their more aggressive nature.

they run great on gas as most honda do
but once you get into vtec your gas milage will decrease form 28-32mpg to around 5-10 mpg

Yes,they do. all cars that are allowed to operate on a public highway using fossil fuel (gas) must be capable of using pump gas--that's one way of controlling emissions(haha). your performance may be affected-but still must use regularly produced fuel...
