if the petrol was taxed higher and use of smaller engines promoted wouldnt they need less oil from other countries and be more self sufficient?

or have they already done this and stopped riding around in those big 3 litre + monsters we saw in the movies?

My 96 Buick Skylark has many electrical failures, including the radio, clock, interior lighting, automatic door unlock, and the rear defroster. I've checked the battery, alternator, relays, and the fuses: all work perfectly fine and are in good condition. What could be the problem?

my car has been stalling every few miles and I would let it set for a few minutes and it starts,today it stalled out again but did not start back up for about 3 or four hours and when I finally got it started it sounded like backfiring but wasnt as loud and I couldn't give it gas,it was sputtering the whole way home.When I let the car idle it was ok .

I have been involved in three wrecks over the past three years and in each one with an elderly person. None of which were my fault.
It is becoming more apparent that elderly people pose a real danger to other drivers. I am just looking for other people's thoughts on this matter. I also think it strange that they enjoy lower insurance rates.

If a aluminum cylinder head is cracked between the "intake" and "exhaust" valves, what is the best method of repairing it? Do you tig weld it or drill and plug the crack? Or, is there something else that I don't know of? Please explain which method is better and why? Thanks.

I've got a 2000 Mazda Miata that I parked under a tree. Now it has Sap spots all over the Body and the convertible top. I've got rid of the sap from the body but the top still has sap stains on it. I dont want to use any solvents that could change the beige color of the top. Any of you got any suggestions.

My 97' ford contour door doesn't close it locks, but it's not closed all the way.I have to bump it with my hip to make it close when i get out. It pops open on the expressway while driving.(Funny right)
Or sometime it will close with no problem.What should I do?
