This kinda goes with what the hogger says. I have tied them down with an order string. Then flick a little water in their face. And have your whistle cord out shaking it in their face..} ;-)
They also make good incline -O- meters when their head is down you are going down hill when it is back you are going up. To the left a right hand curve and so on. Some times your glad the mouthy f ah f ah sucker is asleep.

wake the conductor and tell him that you are having trouble staying awake. offer him some coffee. i know you guys are on call 24hrs a day and get very little rest. start a conversation. get him to tell you about his family. men usually like to tell you about their children. ask him if has pictures of his children. men also like to talk about some kind of sport, like basketball. in other words find a subject that he likes to talk about. good luck

Easy. Get off the seat box and walk right over to the left hand side and give him a big kiss, right on the lips, with the words, upon immediate wakening, "Go to sleep on me again and you'll wake up 'blowin' the horn'."
Works every time............................. and ya only have to do it once.
