I've got a 2000 Mazda Miata that I parked under a tree. Now it has Sap spots all over the Body and the convertible top. I've got rid of the sap from the body but the top still has sap stains on it. I dont want to use any solvents that could change the beige color of the top. Any of you got any suggestions.

To be safe any solvent or chemical you try should be tested in an unobtrusive area first. Otherwise you could unintentionally do more damage to the top of your car. Look for an extra piece where the trim is stitched together.

You may have to use solvents. If you have spots all over - it's most likely the residue that drips from lac bugs (tiny guys, living in certain kinds of trees). It's where "lacqer" or varnish comes from. Not easy to get out without solvents.

I use a cleaner and conditioner.
but if you park it under a tree you may want to consider scotch guarding it. to protect it from further damage. I got stuff from Auto Zone it was like 6 bucks and makes my top look awesome but you need to also specify if it's leather or vinyl?

you will have to use a solvent then you risk taking the water repellant off of it at the same time.
