While I don't know why it's different, I thought my wages by looking on my check stub were about 3,000 more than what my w-2 I just got says. I should have waited for my w-2 but didn't because I heard you can file using your last check stub. I used turbotax and already e-filed...I just got my w-2 today. When I seen the difference I went back in and put the number I have now in and I should be getting back almost 1,000 dollars MORE. Help how can I fix this and get the rest of my refund?

Need to find tax professional in Michigan who specializes in preparing taxes for licensed in-home child care businesses. Would prefer to find someone preferably in Livingston County, Oakland County or Washtenaw County area). Not sure if this type of tax preparer exists but would be very helpful to find.

No forms, no filing, no audits. Simply a straight percentage out of your income or capital appreciation (a percentage could be determined for low, middle and high earners it seems). Do you feel the present system is too complex and slanted in favor of those who can afford Tax Attorneys? I myself believe that most working types would be far better off (just so you know where I stand). OK, thanks and happy 1040 season........

I have gone to auditions and meetings that have cost about $5000. Since I am just beginning, I have had no income to offset these expenses. Since I am in the business of acting, can I claim a business loss on my tax return? Or do those expenses not count for anything as far as taxes go?

I'm thinking about those contributions made on a weekly basis, for example, to churches which do not typically provide receipts. I do not get a receipt for the $10 a week contributed to another qualified charity since, historically, one has not been needed. Any thoughts on this???
