i have one dependant and want to know if i can file and recieve child credit and how to do so

I agree with the previous answer. You don't need to file federal tax return this year. Your situation doesn't qualify you for any [Additional] Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit.

If you had telephone service (land line, cell phone or purchased phone cards), any time since Marching 2003 you are eligible to receive a one time Telephone Excise Tax refund.

For two exemptions, you will receive $40.

You can't.

You have no taxable income.

You did not EARN any money, so no EIC for you either.

You can file form 1040-EZ-T and get up to $60 back for the telephone excise tax.

Worker's Compensation is not taxable. You owe no taxes on it. Since it is not earned income, you are not eligible for the EITC or the child tax credit.
