Need to find tax professional in Michigan who specializes in preparing taxes for licensed in-home child care businesses. Would prefer to find someone preferably in Livingston County, Oakland County or Washtenaw County area). Not sure if this type of tax preparer exists but would be very helpful to find.

Any competent CPA or Enrolled Agents should be able to deal with this type of return. It is not difficult for a tax pro to do. Speak with a few, obtain quotes and go with the one you feel most comfortable with (and whose fees you can afford).

I prepare several tax returns for in-home child care businesses--but I am located in California. You should be able to find someone that has experience with your type of business; just ask them.

The in-home day care business does not have many special tax rules applicable to it, so most tax pros should be able to handle it. If you want to make sure a tax pro you are interviewing does have experience with in-home day care, ask them what special rules apply to your business. They should be able to tell you that the "exclusive use" rule for business use of the home is not applicable--that it is acceptable to prorate based on hours used for daycare to total hours available.

Good luck to you.

We have experience in this area. Since you do not allow email, you will need to click on my picture and send me an email with the link.

We are in Texas, but our practice is nationwide.
