so i submitted my taxes using TurboTax Delux, and filed electronically. I agreed to have my refund direct deposited into my checking account. After I clicked the "ok submit" button, I realized that the bank changed the routing number for that account, and the routing number that the IRS has for my refund is incorrect. How can i get a hold of a real person to talk to about this? All of the Phone numbers that i have found from the IRS site are all recorded or automated messages.
when i talked to Turbo Tax about it, they told me to call the IRS to get it fixed.
Please help!

I have a girl friend who wants me to do her taxes online, but wasn't sure if she would get all of her refund. Don't know why she feels like she won't get it all but, I was wondering if there was a number to call about something like that.

I was laid off at my job on New Years Eve in 05'. I was out of a job until late April. While unemployed I was receiving unemployment checks. Well in early March I got a job for about 2-3 days and then quit going in because the woman was impossible to work with. Anyways, after that I kept on receiving my unemployment checks until I got my current job. Just the other day I got a W2 thing for a check they paid me for my few days there. I am wanting to know because I realize your not supposed to make unemp. claims with a job, and didnt want to turn in this thing to my tax lady and get in some trouble for doing that. So what happens if I dont give her the paper they sent me? Advice?

I'm normally a jeans and tshirt guy. So I went to work one time and was told that we now have a dress code. That forced me to buy more clothes I normally don't wear for work. I'm a tech guy and usually not seen by many so dressing up was never really an issue before but I guess now it is. Can I claim those expenses I used on those clothes as a deduction on my tax return?

My husband receivd a 10099 as an independent contractor and a W2 for a very short lived job only making $600 gross. Since it is underthe $13500 for filing jointly can I just file the 1099 and NOT the W2?

Note: There were no Federal taxes taken out of the $600 on the W2.

I gave money to my church but designated it to a pastor who was leaving the church. It was being collected as a love gift for him. Is it deductible on my Schedule A?

We had a baby in 6/06 and thought our 2006 federal refund would go way up; we received about a $1200 refund last year. In 2006 I made $44,557.50 and had $4563.19 federal withheld; my husband made $47,500 and had $4750 withheld. We own a home and deduct the mortgage interest and we have student loans and deduct that interest. We thought having a baby would increase our refund since the exemption went up, but TurboTax is only calculating a $250 refund...what gives??? Should we maybe file separately? Thanks!

I moved from Canada and we had what we call a basic personal amount. Which is an amount you can deduct from your overall income. It was 8839.00.
I am wondering if they have this in the US and if so where can I find out how much it is or get some information on it.
Or if not this, is there an amount here that you can earn before you need to file taxes?

Thanks
Nadine

I usually mail in my return but for the first time in a lot of years we are getting money back. I bought the TurboTax Basic but I want to know if you have to pay to e-file seperately even though you bought the turbotax? Does that make sense?? The box says e-file fees apply??? Should I buy a TurboTax deluxe? Help!!! I haven't even opened the box yet because I don't want to waste my time and money if you have to pay more anyway. Thanks in advance!!

I have some questions on my income tax return...
First I run a home daycare and get paid by the state and made 15,000. You can write stuff off...the more stuff you write off...the more you get back or what?

Second, I also worked as a sub contracted nurse aide and made about 10,000. I had three years to claim this right? What can I claim under this? Uniforms and gas? Milage? Because I didn't keep track of my milage?

What about school? I have always gotten most of my financial aide...if I claim all of this money won't they say I make a lot and hardly cover it...If so does that mean that I should not claim the sub contractor job right now?

I also have two children, one was born last year...some one said the baby had to be born by June for me to be able to claim her...Is that true?

And usually my child credit covers my self employment tax...do you think it will this year too...

I am trying to get the most of my return back and just want to know what is best to do

Hello,

I am in MN recently registered my new LLC. I am wondering if I should be charging sale or use tax? I assume no since I am offering computer consulting services and not tangible goods. Is this true?

Thanks!

i found this off of the irs.gov free file page. i qualify to free file and i was wondering if anyone has used this one before. i was reading the license agreement and it says "printing or electronically filing your return reflects your satisfaction with Software, at which time you will be required to pay or register for the product."
so im guessing this isn't really free afterall, or its just free preparation.
if anyone has used this before and could help me out, how much is it going to cost to electronically file with this company?

I just got married last year and we bought a house. I owe the IRS taxes from my business back in 1999. They have been taking my refund ever since, but they know that I can not pay them. Now that I'm married and we bought this house, should we file joint using the long form 1040 or is there a way to file so my Wife can claim the interest we paid on the house. Her name is first, since she makes more money than I. I just don't want a lien on our house. Any help or suggestions would be helpful

Do we have to forgo the standard deduction in order to deduct medical expenses from our 2006 income taxes (I have the IRS booklet on medical deductions, but it is not clear on that point). I haven't started figuring out my taxes, but I want to know if it will be worthwhile to tally up our medical expenses beforehand. Thanks.
