Hello,

I am in MN recently registered my new LLC. I am wondering if I should be charging sale or use tax? I assume no since I am offering computer consulting services and not tangible goods. Is this true?

Thanks!

Minnesota has a pretty complex Sales & Use Tax law. Here is the link to the questions & answers page

I did a brief read and could not find where consulting services are exempt (don't have to pay) you might want to shoot them an email or give them a call to find out what your requirements are.

Good luck and taxes suck!

You'll have to check with the state on that. Some states charge sales tax on labor and consulting services, other's don't.

You don't charge use tax. On out of state items you buy without sales tax that are not for re-sale the state can ding you for use tax. If not many out of state purchases no prob.
