At first my refund status was showing as being "processed, look for it by Feb 6". Now it is showing "We are sorry, we cannot provide any information about your refund."

Any idea what this means

I was wondering how much you could make and still qualify for that bonus the government gives out. My wife didn't really make anything this year, less than 3,000 dollars total for the year, and I heard that in the governments eyes that means we are living off basically my income alone so they give you a bonus. Does anyone know about how much that usually is, and what is the maximum you can make and still qualify?

I am a full time student and I received grants, but that's all the income I've received all year. I'm engaged but won't be married until July 2007. In case you were wondering how I was living. Plus we share 3 children also. So, is it worth filing?

For tax year '03, son B. and mother went to H&R Block w/their income records and records and death certificate of another son M.who died after fatal illness in '03. H&R BLock personnel said filing by son B. as head of household was appropriate and the result was a tax rebate of several thousand dollars. In '04 and '05 son B. returned to H&R Block alone and each time filed as head of household. In '06 mother was advised by town/state office in semi-related matter that '04 and '05 filings had to be corrected; that head of household was not applicable. Mother owed no taxes, but son B. should refile as single person because mother's income was not low enough to qualify as his dependant. H&R Block says it will cost him repayment of refunds as well as that amount that will be owed and payable under the corrected tax return he'll file as a single person. In '03 he worked only a few months and had his brother's dependency so they feel only two years will be involved. What do we do?

I want to learn about tax...not to get a career in tax but just to understand what's on my W2 form and all the very basic stuff. I have no clue what's on my W2 form, deductions, allowance etc. Do you know where or how I can learn about it?

I have always used Turbotax in the past while only having a few minor questions about additional deductions. In 2006 I got divorced, sold my house and bought another house, got a new job, etc. Lots of life changes and I was wondering if it might be better to go to a professional vs. doing it myself this year? Can Turbotax handle these easily? Live in PA if it makes any difference.

I recently turned 19 and this is my first time filing taxes. I would ask help from my mom, but she gets too frustrated when it comes to taxes. In 2006 I had 2 different jobs.. one job I made less than $1400 and the other was about the same. so all together i made maybe $3000.. if that. lol so i desperately need help. what forms do i use? can i do it online? if so, what websites would you recommend? what will i need? yes, my mom still claims me as a dependent because i live at home. and no i'm not a full time student.... please help! thank you!

I am a sulf sufficient, 24-yr old college student. My parents have been claiming me as a dependent even tho I haven't been living at home or getting any support from them. I brough this to their attention last year (bc I thought it was not right that I could not clain the Lifelong Learning Credit bc they'd already filed), and just recently the IRS contacted both of us bc my SSN was used on their and my tax return last year. They are in the process of looking into it.

Should I get in trouble for this, even though I didn't know they were doing it til it was too late? What should I do about this situation?

OK, I'm confused. I just read one website that says my employers contribution to my HSA account is not taxable. Our HR manager (not always the most knowledgeable thing, God bless her) just gave us forms to file with our taxes.
I don't use an accountant, and can generally do my own taxes. I just can't figure out if I can avoid having to list my HSA as income.
Anyone have any good links to refer me to or good info?
