I'd like to know how to obtain actual foreclosure lists from banks instead of going through a service that usually has unreliable or misinformation.

i read an article from a financial newsletter that was talking about alloital title, and the "trick" where if you buy a home and then dont ever record it with the city you live in, you dont have to pay property taxes. the logic behind it was that you are assigning the property to them so that they can then use your property value to bond out. so my question is 2 fold. are you required (by law) or other statute to record your home, what happens if you dont record it?

Hi, I did something dumb. I loaned money to a friend. I took third position on her home. She has a first and second mortgage. That makes me #3. She's current on both her 1st and 2nd mortgage. She's behind in paying me back. I need the money. We're not really friends much any more. She told me she understands. She says she won't fight it if I foreclose on her. My question is, what happens to her other mortgages? Do I have to pay those off?

We did our walk through almost 2 weeks ago and everything was fine. We got our full deposit back and was told it looked great. Now 2 weeks later the landlord is calling requesting we bring the shower head back we replaced while we were in there or they would charge me. Can they do that after that fact? As far as I am concerned I was told it looked great and got my money back, it's not my problem. She should have noticed that when we did our walk through. Am I correct? See the owners shower head was old and very gross so we bought a new one and put on it while we lived there. I threw the other one away because it was so gross. There is one on there and it's brand new. So can she request money from me at this point?

I hired masory contractor to do masonry work. Written contract for 4k, paid 4k, signed by both parties. Masonry guy asks contractor to do carpentry work & extend roof line for $900 verbal contract w/ contractor. Mind you, he used my materials. Contractor tells masonry contractor upon doing work to make sure he seals roof line because of rain that night. Masonry guy leaves roof decking open by 5inches and it floods interior of home. Myself and General Contractor told him of his mistake and showed him how much damage occured. All cielings/Walls in living, master room and den had water damage and had to be gutted out as well as insulation and replaced. This cost was well over $2000 including labor/materials. Masonry guy now has hired legal aid and was demanding 7k. Showed legal my paid contract of 4k. Legal aid now says I owe 3k and is threating to file mechanical lien. Verbal agreement was $900, but he has fabricated this price & says he bought materials. Can he get away with this?

My parents have been paying on their house since 1993. They tried refinancing a while back and was ripped off by the fake company in which ruined their credit. The mortgage company their home loan is under is now going bankrupt and they are told they have to foreclose on my parents home unless they are able to refinance. Well, my parents aren't able to refinance based on credit so they are planning to move out this Saturday. Do they have any options They owe $300000 + on the home they paid $100 for California Please help

We are going to purchase a lake home probably with two other couples. I know multiple people go on the mortgage, but how does it work come tax time? Do all three couples get the tax deduction for the interest and property tax (split three ways). Or is it just the first person (highest income) listed on the mortgage get the tax break?

Need suggestions as to how I can make life so miserable at my house that they will want to leave - please help??? Have disconnected cable to their rooms, stripped guest bathroom of it's contents, what else can I do??

It is written REALTOR in capitol letters.
A professional pronounces it REAL-TOR, not REAL-a-TOR or REAL-i-TOR.

The finger nails on the blackboard sensations come over me when I see real estate professionals forget the word REALTOR is a trademark name.

NAR has asked its associates and friends to print the trademark logo after the word, when writing it use all capitol letters.
NAR owns the patent, and trademark rights.

I've been living in apartments on my own for 7 years. Its starting to get really old. I grew up in a house and I am really missing that feeling. My husband and I have been thinking about about buying a house, but don't want to "look before we leap". Credit/Money is not the issue (of course we could save more), but we just don't really understand the whole timing thing, and what to expect really. Location also seems to be an issue too. I don't know any areas that are on the up and up. Help!
