We moved out a while ago. We were told we we get out deposit within 30days. Almost two months later we still dont have it. We have called about 4-5 times in one week. He says he will call us back and never does. There is no reason we should not get all our money back. What should be the next step in getting our deposit back since calling does no good?

Regarding the friend selling the house, where she is on the mortgage but we both are on the deed, she is the realtor so if she already has the contract written, do I have any recourse in contacting the broker or anyone else? I haven't signed any forms. Also she has changed the locks and is not allowing me on the property - any recourse there?

I rented an apartment 3 months ago in pennsylvania. I have been a good tenant except that my two dogs have done some damage to the house(carpet damage, chewed window sills) My landlord recently visited and flipped out over the damage and said she is increasing my rent by 700 dollars per month to cover the damages. Am i liable for this? Shouldnt I atleast see how much teh damages are going to actually cost before agreeing to this large hike in rent? Does anyone know anything about this topic?

If the lease is broken early, how long do apartment complexes keep the tenant's file after the tenant moves out?

We signed up a renter in December and had her sign an agreement to rent the house with a $100.00 deposit. All communication was great and we set up a day and time to hand over the keys/house. The renter did not show up for the appointment and will not return our calls. Can we take her to court over the losses we are incurring? Thanks.

If you have orders for a permanent change of duty station, and you have to turn copies of the orders into the management office of an apt complex to break a lease, what does management do with those orders? Are they just kept in a file? Or do they have to turn them in to someone else?

Yes, it's in the lease that I pay the water bill. I guess I figured when I signed the lease that I would get a bill, or he would tell me what I owed him. I got invoiced from the gas and electric co. and paid them. I never rec'd a bill from the water company, I was never asked to pay the water bill, and when I called the water company, my unit in the duplex doesn't have a water meter, so they couldn't give me a bill if they wanted to. Since I never rec'd a bill, I totally forgot about paying it. I mean, how long do you have to wait for a bill?
So when I bought a house and moved out I stayed in contact with my landlord. He was going to walk through the appt and send me my deposit back in the mail. Instead, I get a letter from my landlord saying he is withholding my deposit because I owe him for 18 months worth of water! (which he NEVER asked for, NEVER mentioned, nothing!) Is that even legal? He doesn't show me a bill, nothing, just says I owe him $500.
I am in Ohio

I'm going to buy a house next month and my agent told me that she can provide us a 2% interest rate if we put 10% down, it's only for 3 months and our fourth month payment gonna me more like maybe we"ll get 6.25% I Rate and then we can refiance it for 3 months like we can do this for 1 or 2 year then we can get a fixed rate for 15 year. so my question is is this a good options. b'coz i don't want to be in trouble in few years.

Live in Illinois. Will I be able to take death certificate to Office of Deeds and have deed transferred to my name only, even though there are other siblings? Or will problems arise? Have lived here over 30 years, taken care of the mortgage. Mom took care of utilities. No one helped. Now do I lose my house?
