I am in the process of buying a home. In my contract it states that the seller is to pay the title insurance. The cost came out to $562. I got the paper that displays all the figures and whatnot from the bank after my loan was aproved. It says that the seller is paying the insurance on the title. Now i get a call from the bank and from the realitor telling me there was a mistake made in the contract and that I am responsible for it. I think that its in the contract what is done is done. Can I shaft the seller with this money?

Does anyone know of any resources or sites that gives information on renters rights. My situation is a little different from the other sites I have seen. Let me explain, My landlord and his family moved out of state and offered to rent his house to me and my family. I was currently renting a home from another landlord, which this rental was cheaper so I agreed and signed a years lease. We have been renting from this new landlord for 3 months and paying rent on time. The owners are now moving back home because they don't like it were they are at. I'm a little concerned that they will try to evict me and my family, therefore, I need to know my rights just in case.

So I have 5 homes that i purchased one by one during the height of the dot-coms, rented out, refinanced, then purchased the next. It was smooth sailing, those days, but now I'm in a major bind. I'm behind on my property taxes, one of my homes hasn't sold so it's on the verge of foreclosure, another home was destroyed by my tenants so its undergoing renovations, and i'm even having trouble keeping up with the mortgage of my principal residence. I'm in a complete mess! I've already called all my mortgage companies seeking help, but most of them said they could not do anything about it. One mortgage company with the home that hasn't sold is working with me to try to keep me out of foreclosure, but i'm slipping behind many of my other homes. Does this situation sound similar to anyone else? Does anyone have advice, or stories of the like, they'd like to share? Anything would help. Thanks!

I have owned my house for 6 months and now may need to move for a new job... Should I try to sell my house and risk taking a loss (very likely considering the housing market, and high realtor fees), or try to rent it and hire a property manager to manage the property (I will be moving a thousand miles away and cannot take care of the property myself). If I do rent it, is everything I spend on the house (lawncare, paint etc.) now tax deductible since its sort of like a small business???

I had bought and installed a chainlink fence around the front yard of the house I'm renting. Now the owner has filed bankruptcy and the house has been sold. I want to take my fence with me when I move, but the lawyer that represent the bank that now own the property say I can't take it because it's attached to the property. Is this true?

I rent a 3 bed, 2 bath house on a 1 year lease. I do not want to share the lease as I only want to rent a room temporarily. I just want to be educated if my landlord has a right to meddle in my right to rent a room out? Any advice? Thanks!

My husband and I bought an "owner financed home" earlier this yr and each month we pay mortgage interest. Can we claim all the interest that we have paid on taxes next year or does it even count because it wasn't financed through a bank? If so, should we receive a statement from the person we bought our house from before we file?
