If you're 26 and want to move out, would you rather blow money renting, or saving for a condo and how long should it take to save if you make 35,000 a year?

Our landlord stated that b/c we broke a 2 year lease we are not liable to recieve our deposit back but it doesn't state that anywhere in our lease or the guidelines. The lease only requires that we pay our vacancy fee and we already did that. Please help!

what can my mum do as her landlord has served her with 30 days notice yesterday as he wants to sell the flat she is living in ?
she suffers from agrophobia and has panic attacks so she is not able to work, which means she has no money for a deposit or rent in advance to look for somewhere else,
she doesn't know if the council would help her and is worried if they do that they would only offer her bed and breakfast, but as she has agrophobia she wouldn't be able to go out in the daytime as some b&b's insist on,
any advice would be great as she is working herself up into a right state.

I have two friends who entered into a lease agreement in June 2006. The landlord had the husband sign a lease upon moving in. He then came back later with a revised lease that stated that they have a 13 month lease that expires on June 30 2007 and had the husband sign it too. He revised the lease to say that the tenants would be responsible for the property taxes from June 2006- Dec 2006 and then from January 2007-June 2007 as well as the homeowners insurance for the same time frames. The landlord did not list what those amounts are. He then listed that the tenants could purchase the home for 170K and that he could sell the home any time after January 31 2007. The landlord has told them this week that it is now time to pay the taxes. Is it legal or customary for a landlord to ask tenants to pay his property tax bill and homeowners insurance outside of the monthly rent?

Divorced couple in 2000, buys a house together in 2003 because of kids. He wants to sell, she doesn't. She wants 25K to move out which he doesn't have right now. She has a lawyer, he does not. The kids wish to stay with the father. Both names on the deed of the house, only his name on the mortgage. Any suggestions for this situation and the easiest way out for both?

I'm debating buying a property w/ my girlfriend in NJ, however I don't know if the tax benefits would be greater if we both buy places.

We live together and if we both buy properties, only one of us will get the tax breaks...

We are wanting to find land in front of water...but with lots of trees around it....we are willing to develop the land...use the timber that is on the property...we are interested in finding out if land can still be homesteaded in the U.S. There are books that you can pay for that tell about places available...but we also know that the list of properties is also available for FREE from the government. Haven't had much luck with an Internet search on our own...any help would be appreciated!

My husband and I are renting the perfect size house for us in a seemingly perfect neighborhood. We don't want to move b/c we are getting a great deal on the rent compared to local mortgages.
We are slightly interested in renting to own, and so is our landlord. He is really nice but lives far away from us, so he can't get out to the house much. In fact, he hasn't been to the house in the last 5 years!

We know the prevous two renters and go to church with them. The same carpeting, kitchen cabinets, kitchen appliances and light fixtures have been in the house since it was built and we are so embarrassed when company comes over, but we don't think we should have to pay to replace all that, especially if we don't decide later to buy the house.

How can we ask our landlord to renovate it? Obviously we wouldn't ask for it all to be done at once- just knowing he will change it would help us feel better. Should we ask? When do we ask? Any ideas?

I really don't care about location. I am in the military and will be retiring in 10 years. I want a house waiting for me paid for. I have no family so I don't vare where it will be located. I want something relatively inexpensive so it will be paid for when i retire and I cann live off my reitment from the military and the $60,000 in my IRA.

For example, USA Housebuyers or Fast Cash for Homes? We bought a house with 100% financing and now my husband lost his job. The mortgage is too big to handle on one income and we don't want to wreck our credit with a foreclosure or late payments. We have no equity and just want to sell for what we owe. We can't rent it out for what the mortgage payment is. The market is too slow right now and we can't/don't want to wait to sell through a realtor. Thanks!

We have heard many different versions.

After the 1st mortgagee forclosed we were given until October 10 to move in a letter from the lawyer. Two weeks ago someone came by to do an occupancy status report and nothing since.

Should we move now or will the sheriff give us time when he comes with a notice?

Will the second mortgagee try to take over the first and give us more time?

Thanks.
