This company said for a fee of $388 they can obtain for me a government grant for first time home buyers that would cover the entire cost of the purchase price of the house. Now I know government grants are for real, but the whole purchase price of a house? I don't know! I have heard of down payments and closing costs for grants, but all of it? Maybe, maybe not. Please anyone out there who know anything about government grants and or this particular company, I would very much apreciate a response. Thank you very much.

I purchased my home in December of 2005. Fixed for 7 years at 6.3% rate and then it becomes variable. I payed $5,500 in closing costs and 0 down. My purchase price was $255,000 of which only $3,000 has been payed off in principal ( I still owe $252,000). I am paying $300 in PMI. With the current housing market I don't expect the value of my home to go up 20% in the next year. I want to get rid of the PMI payment. My credit score last year was at 640, now it is at 675. My average household income for the last two years is around $150,000/year. What are my options?

I currently live with 2 other roomates in an apartment. All 3 of our names are signed on the lease. I plan to move out pretty soon (can't stand it there cuz it's gotten pretty ghetto) and those 2 are going to stay there. They are able to afford it on their own. The lease says its a year lease, but it also says if we're to move out, to give at least a 60 day notice (regardless if the year is up or not), so I'm thinking it's not one of those year leases thats hard to get out of. Anyways, am I able to take my name off the lease easily so I'm not liable if those 2 have problems paying the rent? Do I still have to give that 60 day notice? The apartment isn't being vacated, it's only me moving out.

I live in a seven year old apartment. I am on the top floor. I can normally hear my neighbor below me pounding the bass when they play video games. Anyhow, suprisingly enough, they complained to me today, that my wife (when she walks in her den), makes too much noise, lots of traffic they said by her feet. We are very gentle with the walking, and it's a "DOG" building, which means there are animals roaming on the floors.

What should I do? Or is there anything I can do?

I live in IL and own 6 Florida Investment properties. I have a Las Vegas C Corp, in which my accountant is acting as nominee to keep my name from being attached. I plan to use the LV Corp to only hold assets. Can I file all of the quit claim deeds in Las Vegas? Will this information be posted to a national title database that will show the LV Corp as the owner?

I am currently renting my home and i am due to move out in January. Last time i rented a property the landlord/estate agent tried to with hold the deposit claiming that things were missing from the property which i know they weren't. I am now afraid that my current landlady will try to do the same thing, but we don't have a copy of an infantry. The only problems that i can see that are wrong with the property are a light bulb needs replacing, which i will change, the carpet is a little thinner in places and there are a few scuff marks on the walls, so does this go down as fair wear and tear or will i have to have the place redecorated? I fear that if i leave the scuff marks they will try to keep my deposit or claim they have had to redecorate and charge me for it. Anyone help???

I am trying to convince a very good friend to not buy a house. She lives in Kansas City Missouri. She can barely make the rent payments every month and houses are very expensive here but she is naive and believes she can do it. I am trying to find information to show her exactly how much everything costs and try to make the point that it is a bad idea. So where can I find all the information? I hope all this makes sense.

I can't go through a bank for financing. My parents will be giving me the $ for the house but I still can't use a bank. I really like one house, but no contact has been made with the owner. If it doesn't work out with this house.. how else will I know who is more likely to do a land contract?

My lease expired on 10/31/06. I have not signed a new lease as of 11/14/06. The existing lease states that if I do not sign a new one, that the current lease automatically extends, landlord is charging me $35 for every month that I do not renew lease.(it did not say for how long, month 2 month or yearly) Do I have to give my landlord notice that I am moving?
Also, I have had problems with electrical stuff, 2 hot in summer, and bcuz of probems, cud not run AC. Now, No heat, and landlord tells me that 5 more days for proper technician to come. currently 55 degrees in PA.
I am definitely moving out (end of month) but wanted to know best way to protect myself. FYI, landlord tried to evict me last month for Aug and Sep rent being late. I did a pay and stay agreement, paid all past due rent. I feel like they are jerking bcuz my rent was late last 2 months, should I just leave? or should I 'fight' cuz serious problems with 'standard of living'

I'm looking to buy 40 acres in Maine to re-sell and make a profit.I know that it depends on the area but I don't know where it is. My girlfriends mother's friend lives out West and is selling it cheap to get rid of it. The only information I have on it is that its wooded with no roads and about 7 miles from the coast. Are there any land value calculators I can use to check the value of a piece of land?

If I inherit my family's house after the death of both parents, can the executor sell the home without first informing me and getting my written consent?

Does anyone know of a case where someone's inherited property was sold without the heir knowing about the sale, due to the executor pretending that the next of kin cannot be found?
