My landlord (community development) sent me a warning letter (Notice to Cease) to stop "harrassing" our downstairs neighbor, re: smell that comes thru our kitchen counter w/ the strong Indian food she cooks.
Anyway, neighbor kept complaining & they sent a "Demand for Possession" letter, which stated to vacate property within 3 business days & the lease was terminated.
Luckily I went to Landlord/Tenant office & they stated that was not the proper way to evict someone, that I should have had a notice from the county I reside in & a court date.
My question is: Can I consider this harrassment by the management company by sending me this fake eviction letter? Can they do this kind of thing? Is it illegal what they sent me?
Luckily I knew about the landlord/tenant office & didn't pack up my things & move w/o no where to go !
Thanks in advance.

I bought a house and now starting to think its a mistake because they gave me a mortgage of almost $1500 and told me I could refinance it a few months later. Well I can't get it refinanced! Does anyone know any companies that work with people in the "lower income" brackets?? I make a little over $27,000 a year and I don't have anyone else on the mortgage but me so all the mortgage companies are considering me high risk.

I asked recently about buying a home given that my job will almost certainly be going away in a few months due to a corporate merger. I want to stay in this area for a few years and have a decent amount of $ saved, and hate renting my current apt. But one of the golden rules supposedly is that you should never buy a home if your job situation is unstable. Instead, on here people mention the 2 year continuous job history rule lenders have and say I should rush out and buy BEFORE I lose my job. I work in IT in an area with plenty of companies, but still, such an investment when my job is almost guaranteed to go away...wise move?

I saw a house on Realtor.com I really like, but I have some questions that could completely change whether I am interested in the house at all.

If I contact the listing agent about any questions I have, would I be stuck using them if I decided to actually purchase the property?

I ran into a similar problem last time I bought a house. A real slimeball realtor showed me a house I really loved, and I was stuck using him to represent me when I bought it because he was the one who’d showed me the house and was entitled to part of the commission.

I feel a bit weird just calling up random realtors to show me a house that I might not even be interested in when I see the inside, or find out what the sellers are and aren’t willing to fix. I can see from the outside that the roof is in need of repair, and there’s an old pool in one of the photos. It could be a major money pit so I’m proceeding with caution.

We're in the process of a refinance and have been offered an FHA home loan vs. the conventional one we already hold. This is our first house, don't know too much, just want to take alittle money out and pay off all bills, nothing major. Latest offer (the FHA one) is 3% less in rate so the long run the payments will be lower, and save us money....Please help!

I want to buy 3 properties but my credit is poor. Is ther a way for me to get financed regardless of this issue. And can I get the purchase and rehab financing all in one loan. What kind of loan should I get. Where can I find such a loan. Is there anyone who has done this with bad credit who can give me some creative financing ideas?

We signed documents on Sunday and left a deposit for the purchase on a home. Escrow opened on Monday. On Tuesday we received a preliminary on what our payments would be. I sent an email to our realtor explaining that the payments were too high and not what we were quoted. Our realtor told us if we backed out we would loose our deposit. We were pre-qualified but my husbands work hours have decreased. Do we loose our deposit? Can we back out without losing our deposit? Does an email count as far as notifying our realtor within 72 hours? Don't we have 72 hours to back out without losing our deposit?

My boyfriend and his ex lived together for 2 years. Four days before they were to renew their lease, she decided that she was moving out. This gave him no time to find another roommate or find a new place so he had to re-sign his lease and stay in an apartment by himself that he could no longer afford. This caused him to go through some real financial problems having to borrow money from family. Another thing, she just recently moved into a new place and finally (after 3 or 4 months) moved all of her crap out of his place. So essentially for 3 months he was her storage unit. Prior to all of this taking place, he borrowed money from her which she is now asking for back. I don't think he should pay her all of it, I think he should pay her the excess of what the rent was for the month that she moved out, since she didn't give 30 days notice to him or their landlord...plus he stored her stuff for her. I want to know if that's legal, since she didn't give 30 days, and moved out...?

My house was appraised at 233,000.00 in March of 2006 and now in Nov. of 2006 was reappraised at 204,000.00 in Port St. Lucie, FL 34952 it does have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and a 14 x 30 screend in pool on a city lot I just can't believe the value has dropped 29000.00 in 9 months so my husband and I are asking 219,000.00 is this a fair price? My realtor keeps wanting me to drop the price.

I moved out of my old apartment and there were three of us on the lease. I want to get off of it but my landlord told me I have to stay the duration and pay my half of rent, or find someone to take over for me.

I moved out because of all the underage parties and I just got a great job and I really dont want to get arrested. Help?

hi all,

i'm planning to move in to a new home. the new home is located in a quite neighboorhood.

the house is built around a circular "driveway". something like this

I'm 6 months into a year lease on a house in Florida. Ever since we signed the lease, our landlord has given us a hard time about every little thing. She now wants to put the house on the market. Are we required to let her show the house to potential buyers? It says nothing about this in our lease. It only says we have to let her in for repairs and a yearly inspection. Help.

I once attended a seminor where we were advised that one could use credit cards, loans and other means to get a mortgage and start up on the property development ladder, how does this really work? Unfortunately i am very sceptical about spending €1000 for a 3day course on it. Please comment or share ideas.
