As long as your rental history is ok, you should be able to rent. You may be required to pay an additional deposit, but I have rented many apartments with bad credit. The only requirement they had was that you can't have any outstanding balances with other apartments. You also could get a cosigner, if needed. Try calling a few complexes and find out what their credit requirements are.

Yes. Depending on where you live, there are apartments that dont even run a credit check. They might not be in the best neighborhood, but you'll be okay. And usually, as long as you dont have any evections in your rental history, many apartment complexes are willing to work with people who have jacked up credit (like me!). They just require a larger deposit.

You may be able to rent from a private landlord. However, the probably will run a credit check. You should be upfront and maybe give the landlord a few months in advance.

You can find apartment complexes that will allow you to have a co-signer or others that just need you to show proof of six months rent if you have bad credit.

i think it may depend upon where you live, but, i as well - have credit issues - - i was honest with my landlord about what they were - proved my employment (and how long i was with) - how much i made, etc.
this was a small apt. complex - 5 in all - small town -- an island to be exact - they took a chance because they liked my honesty and look - (clean, educated etc.) i just happened to make a few mistakes when i was young.
i am now about to sign my second lease with them.
wishing you lots-o-luck!!!!

Try renting from an individual, like a condo or townhome.
