I was watching some informericals about buying/selling real estate with no money down, and I was wondering if anybody has done this before? If you have, did you use a system and how much money did you make?

My rent is about to go up from $855 to $941. I would like to get the managers to agree that I pay $900 but I don't know how to go about writing a letter of that type. What are the rules for negotiating rent? I would like to stay her but I am student and I will definitely feel that increase.

Am i off the mark here with thinking that i can take out a home equity loan to pay off my 20% mortgage loan? I didn't have the 20% down payment when i bought my place, so i took out a 20% loan @ 9.75% to cover that and avoid the PMI. Can i take out a home equity loan to pay this off, while paying back the home equity loan at a much lowwer rate? Or am i better off refinancing after paying my mortgage for at least a year?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy a home. My apt lease is up at the end of Oct. 2006. It's currently mid-July. Do I have enough time to find a home and close or should I extend my lease? I'm working on my credit score and down payment but want to think realistically about a time frame. Any agents or brokers out there that can help?? Or anyone with personal experience would be great, too. Oh, btw, I live in Texas. Thanks Again!!!

My folks gave me their place when they hit their mid 70s. It's a big uplex on 2 1/2 acres just out of town. I never thought I would ever see the day I had no house payment. Now I pay property taxes and insurance that comes to as much as I was paying for my last home every year. I think our Government needs another civil war. How do people make it with big mortgages and kids anymore?

I'm on a shoestring budget and really need to get my name out there! I've done all the obvious - sent fliers to farm area, called friends and family, passed out business cards etc.

I've heard claims that you can payoff your home mortgage in 10~15 years instead of 30 years with the same monthly payment.
Is this too good to be true?

I want to start doing this but I need advice?

I have a condo in southern California, I could sell it for about $400,000 as it is 1650 square feet, 3bd/2.5 ba and has a yard and 2 car garage. It is pretty much a single family home, only it does not have a front yard and it has a condo ownership.

It is not attached to any other condos and looks like a regular home.

I want to do some light remodeling like a new kitchen, update the bathrooms, and replace the doors and tear down a wall. I have already done a few home improvements like a new patio, new vinyl windows and new paint, appliances and carpet.

My whole project will cost about $33,000 including labor and materials.

My wife and I plan to stay in the house since we have paid it off and it is in a good location in California.

Is $33,000 too much to invest in my condo? I could get 400k now and its not looking so hot. My reason for the updates is not for resell but to make our home more custom so we stay happy where we are.

The letter was very basic, stating that either we pay or the check will be reported as a 'hot' check. A copy of our check was attached, and posted on the door. No envelope, nothing. Am I wrong in thinking anyone could have accessed our personal information such as checking account, routing number,etc.. ?

Asking around we find more 'bad' developers, and negative opinons of newly built homes in new subdivisons, than really any that are good. We want to move into a new subdivions with a new home in the STL area, but haven't heard much good about the quality of these new homes. Really want to buy a new home in a new subdivison, live there for 5-7yr, and then sell for a decent profit to build a home per our own specs working with family on a daily basis to ensure it is built right. We could buy an existing home (say 5 to 10 years old) live for 5 years, then sell to build, but think a new home in a new subdivision would make us a better 5 yr investment. Thoughts/Advice please?
