It ends right there. However you can renew it, a month before, if you are still planning to live there. Your landlord usually sends you a form to renew or quit your lease, it is up to you .

You need to read your lease! Most likely you will be on a month to month at the end of your year lease, but you need to read it and next time, know what you signed!

No you have to renew it. You may be required to notify the Landlord 3 months in advance of you intention to renew. Best bet, read your lease. It will tell you exactly what you have to do.

Your lease ends. If it is not renewed, you enter into a month-to-month rental agreement. In this type of contract your rent can be raised pretty much when ever (providing legal notice).

your lease would be valid as month to month on expiry of your lease term all other conditions of the lease remain same but they can charge you more rent depending on the terms and conditions say $ 50 to $ 100 over the rent you used to pay.Even though you are on month to month basis you or they have to give 30 day move out notice. The 30 day notice period always starts from the 1st of the coming month.
