Damn! These people don't care if you're on your death bed or not. Debt collectors from a CELL phone company sittin' there callin' me @ some 7 on the DOT this morning-DEMANDING money from me & making threats to garnish my SSI & Social Security checks, which they CAN'T do. I mean, why if they're not PERSONALLY making any profit off of you, do they put their emotions of anger into threatening you? Please don't say "It's their job." There must be some other reason. I was homeless on the streets, & they STILL don't care-they want MY money. They don't care if you're in the hospital-like I was. They don't care if you're dirt poor & starving. In which I am. SSI & Social Security-that's all my bill money right there. They don't care if you're on your last breath of life.

I got my first credit card in June of 2006. My payments have never been late. Every 30 days the credit card company reports account status to all 3 major credit reporting agencies. Transunion and Experian both are showing my account correctly, but Equifax is not showing it at all! I had to pay Equifax $20 for my credit report just to try to dispute it and now I get a bunch of crap for the customer service center. I know my credit card company is reporting my info. In fact just yesterday they did another report to Equifax and Equifax is still saying they have no record of the account. I'm really upset over this mess and I want an investigation by FTC and possibly the Attorney General for the state for the Equifax corporate office. What would you do? What is the best way to get immediate action?

I had/have a loan through a mortgage company; they written off the remaining loan off as "bad debt" and closed the account. It's been verified when I pulled my account. They have made no attempt in trying to contact me and I did notify them of my new address and contact info. What are my options and can I remove this from my credit report.

Respectfully,

My wife's grandmother, whom is 89 years young and in a nursing home had some credit card debt when she was admitted some four years ago. Now, my wife got a threatening call from one of those companies a few months back basically saying if we didn't pay the debt they would take us to court. I called a lawyer and was told that they couldn't take us to court because it is the grandmothers debt. Is there anyway we can be held responsible for her grandma's debt? By the way, I told the credit card company we weren't going to pay and I haven't heard from them since. By the way we do have power of attorney over her finances but that was only to get her into the nursing home (we got it a few months before she was admitted). There has been no charges made on her credit cards since the day she went into the nursing home. Actually we didn't realize she had so many credit card accounts, but she payed on them faithfully up until she went into the nursing home. She had some since the 60's.

Two weeks before filing chapter 7 a customer signed and borrowed money from me. Two months after filing he amended his chapter 7 to include me in it. I never received any paperwork from him or his lawyer stating he was in chapter 7 nor did I receive anything from his lawyer until after the case was discharged.
His lawyer give me ten days to drop a judgment i have on him or face being taken to court myself for not abiding by bankruptcy laws.

I was not aware of the bankruptcy until my lawsuit was started. I never received anything in writing other than a letter after the bankruptcy was discharged. I have lost money already taking him to court and lending him money. I believe he was clearly aware of his chapter 7 before taking the loan. I don't have money to pay a lawyer for representation. what can i do to protect myself and get my money back? Please help me, I dont want to lose anymore money.

I was under the impression that the legal limit for yearly interest agreements for things like credit cards was 30%. Did I miss something, or am I just completely wrong?

True or False: When creditors evaluate your income, they can't legally refuse to consider income from public assistance in the same manner as other income.

I read about a program where you get a new 9 digit number to open a new credit file using your real name address etc. Is this legal?

Ok, I'll try to make this as simple as possible.

I make some credit card payments through MyCheckFree. I changed bank accounts and when I went to change the information through MyCheckFree two credit payments were already processing so I went to the site to pay it directly, which I did and the payments were made days before they were due.

MyCheckFree's first attempt failed because the account was closed. Then they tried a second time, which failed again because it was attempted with the closed account and once the transaction is processing there is no way to stop it. I understand that there are CC fees but:

1. Will this hurt the decent credit that my husband and I have going for us, that we have been improving on?

2. Even though the bank account was closed days earlier am I still responsible for the fees that my old bank is trying to place on me?

I didn't receive word of the first failed attempt, only the 2nd.

my husband and me wanna fix our credit.he has a bad credit(around 570)and I have no credit.over the last 3months we put payments in my name to build my credit, but its still insufficient.we thought once my credit is good, we could get his score up through my credit.
Is that possible or would it be better to fix his credit first?the problem is, we dont really have the money yet to pay his credit off!

Its for an apartment I used to live in. I got evicted. If I pay it off, is there a way to get rid of it right away? Because it says it will be there for 7 years.

If I cannot get rid of it even after paying,...after 7 years will it just disappear? Basically If I wait it out will I not have to pay anymore? I just want it gone.

The credit card agreement says the largest of the following:

1. The new balance on the billing statement if it is less than $20.

2. $20 if the new balance is at least $20

3. 1% of the new balance plus the amount of your billed finance charges and any applicable fee.

4. 1.5% of the new balance

With number 3 what are finance charges?

I placed an order, and was charged for the entire amount. One of my items was on backorder. It has been on backorder for over a month, yet I was charged for this item. They have said they will credit me, if I don't want it, but still I have $50.00 that I should not have been charged for.
