No credit cards or big ticket items. Just late on paying doctor bills. Can I apply for credit or do I have to wait for these corrections to show on my report?

i thought as long as you pay your bablances off each month or make all your payments you will have good credit? but somone told me they want to see you have a balance each month long term and that will give you a higher score because it shows you can pay over time, and if you pay your balances off each month to 0, your score wont be real high because your not managing a balence over time? my credit is 734
what can i do to get a 800 or 850? i have no debt, pay all my balnces each month, and if i have a remaing balabce i pay more than the minumum. but i only had credit for 3 years. so is having credit for a few more years going to make it got to 800? they said the average credit length is 15 years in the u.s. thats not fair if your young, you can only start getting credit when your 18. so i have to wait till im 30 to have a 850?

I have about $13,000.00 in debt and I'm getting ready to leave my husband and do not want to leave him with my debt (I do have a heart) but my salary is small and paying the monthly payments I currently pay will be hard once I'm on my own. Even just the miminum payments will be hard on my salary. Will a debt consolidation company be able to help me or do I not have enough debt to qualify?

Just curious: does going over your limit show up on your credit report? If so, is it counted as a derogatory item?

I had a few credit cards during college that I foolishly charged off and now I am trying to pay them and fix my credit. After updating my credit information, I attempted to contact each credit company one by one to pay them off as money became available starting with the lowest debt first. I paid off two accounts and followed up on them to make sure they show up as "paid."

Recently two of the bigger accounts seem to have gotten sold to a collection agency that is now on one account asking for almost double the original debt and the other account asking for over the double the original debt. My plan to pay them off has now been set back, I don't think this is fair and was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what to do to resolve this problem.

We ordered a flat plasma TV and then cancelled within 48 hours. We are now getting calls from GE's collections department telling us that Peach Direct never let them know that we cancelled the order. Peach Direct doesn't answer their phones and and GE says they can't do anything about it. Filing a dispute did not work a month ago and at sixty days their computers automatically report us to the credit bureaus'. The interest charges on most of our other accounts will go up to the maximum interest possible. Buyer beware!

We are interested in hearing from anyone else that would like to join us in a class-action suite to spare anyone else this personal credit problem for realizing too late what this company is willing to do to its valued customer's.

Please keep this active, they should not be allowed to do this.

My purchase at a local store was oddly denied so we went home and called our bank. It seems that someone tried to purchase $270 dollars at Mambo Cafe in Mexico!! Luckily my bank denied the transaction due to suspected fraud. How does this happen if my card wasn't stolen nor my account number compromised?

This actually happened to my husband. His parents opened a telephone account using his SSN and name when he was only 16. Now a collection agency is coming after him 9 years after the account was closed for money still owed. Is he responsible for this? What should we do?
