Speak with your bank. But be aware that you are always going to have to provide the same information.

Many people will head down to the local office of the banks or credit card companies when they want to apply for a credit card. If there is a long queue, they will have to wait in line for their turn to submit their applications. Alternatively, they can call up their customer service hotlines and request for an application form to be mail to their home addresses.

As more and more households have access to the Internet, the banks and credit card companies begin to offer online credit card applications. This method allows the banks and credit card companies to reach a broader base of potential customers, especially the younger generation that is more computer savvy. Walk in to the bank of your choice and complete an application form. Do be advised that you will still need to complete a long and detailed profile. There is no escaping; with so many bad debts the bank needs to exercise caution.

1. Go for a credit card with the lowest interest rate, though interest rates will not have a major impact on your finances provided you choose to pay the entire monthly balance in time. This makes it important for you to pay your credit card bill on time. This will protect you against future charges like late fees.

2. Select the best offers on the credit card APRs. At times, 0% percent APRs is an excellent choice since the credit card companies do not earn anything from it. There are various other means of obtaining excellent deals on APRs.

3. Choose a credit card allowing you to transfer your balance. It lets you transfer balances from other credit cards at the introductory APR having the cheapest interest rates. Though these offers are very limited, they let you save plenty of money.

4. Maintain a good customer standing. Pay your bills on time. Keep your balances low to take the advantage of a 0% APR for a short time. Many credit card companies will accept it as they tend to give preference to good clients and good business deals.

In the US, Bank of America has a pretty easy process, but it's no easier than their online process.

Contact the branch of any bank and ask them.
