My husband and I have a credit card in both our names. He has racked up thousands of dollars. How do i get my name off of this card, or can I.

You more then likely won't beable to get off it until it's paid because you are responsible for it to with having your name on it. Now if you are the main person on the account and you added his name then you can get his name off it so he can't charge anymore. I was the main holder on some of the credit cards when I go divorced so I got his name off them so he could not go out and charge on them and the cards that had no balance I just closed them and then reopened them in my name only. It all just depends on where you live and the laws in that state and the company policy of where you have the credit cards at.

If you are simply an authorized signer you can. however if you were on the original application, I doubt if you can. They seldome say...hey lets make less people responsible for this bill....more like, how can we get more ppl to take responsibility for this.

call and see if they will close the account
of course you will be responsible for the debt but you wont have to worry about more

YES YOU CAN TAKE YOU NAME OFF THE CARD AT ANY TIME YOU WANT CALL THE CC COMPANY AND TELL THEN YOU WANT YOUR NAME OFF THE CARD
