My girlfriend is visiting the states from japan and whenever she uses her visa credit cards they wont work. Theyll work in some clothing stores but it kinda changes from day to day. The cards will work in American eagle for example but not in aeropostale. is it the store system or is it the card that isnt cooperating?

I have been having a bill collector call for my brother in law...he has never lived with us, nor does he live in this state. My husband says that they are just looking up our last name, which isn't common where we live, and exasperating every opportunity just to find him. Can this happen...or is he using my phone number to deter them from finding him? I am really upset about this and all they said was that they will remove my number from their file. We don't speak to my brother in law and haven't for some time now...I know what state he lives in, but other than that...no clue! Do you think I should call these people back and give them whatever information I have or just leave it alone!

i am permanent resident for 2 years in uk, continuously fully employed (current employment 7 months)

I have at least £1k income after taxes and all costs of living left each month, i wanted to borrow £5000 for 2 years.

i have no credit cards, loans, mortgages, children, past problems.

i still got an offer from my own bank, but 10% and high early repayment fees (around £250), and its competitors (APR 6-7%) refuse, why ?

what to do ?

I disagreed with a well known large orginisation about it service & refused to pay a final bill until they explained their lack of action. They did not want to listen to my reasons for too long & placed the outstanding bill in the hands of a collection agency & I have been harrassed by many different collection companies since (7yrs.to be exact)I have explained myself blue in the face. Most have accepted my explanation ,but I am being constantly phoned by one company in particular.I have told them to take legal proceedings & take me to court ( at least I could get myself heard ) but at this point they stop calling & writing for a few months then it begins all over again. What can I legally do.

we are trying to buy a house and our using a very well known banking institution. Everytime I turn around they are finding more errors. Errors that should have been caught weeks ago. The latest... My hubbys name is Joshua, but they pulled the credit report for Josh. They are now going to pull another credit report, insisting that the name match word for word. Please explain this to me. Shouldn't it be the social security number they are worried about? If there is a match, I don't understand the problem. Also, when I get my credit report, the bottom states other names used for that social security number. Please explain to me why, then, thay have to pull another report.

My husband was just pre-approved for a $12,000 subsidized student loan. They still need to check with the university he is attending to verify the loan amount....can the university tell them not to give my husband that much money? Tuition is only about 2,000 dollars. What do you think? Will they just give us the $12,000 he qualified for even though tuition is less? We really need this money to pay off credit card debt..plus he WILL use 2,000 of it for school.
