we are trying to buy a house and our using a very well known banking institution. Everytime I turn around they are finding more errors. Errors that should have been caught weeks ago. The latest... My hubbys name is Joshua, but they pulled the credit report for Josh. They are now going to pull another credit report, insisting that the name match word for word. Please explain this to me. Shouldn't it be the social security number they are worried about? If there is a match, I don't understand the problem. Also, when I get my credit report, the bottom states other names used for that social security number. Please explain to me why, then, thay have to pull another report.

Its one of those things that is just hard to go through but inded needed. The SSN has to match the name. Sometimes companies report different names b/c of misspelling or other stuff. That has happened to me but no problems.

Everything has to match 100%. SSN and name to make sure there are no errors for either. Also a mortgage pull on you credit report is ok and doesn't affect your score but once within 30 days. No matter how many lenders pull it. You will get through this. Good Luck!

When we applied for our house, they pulled like 3 credit reports throughout the process, we did try for a speedy closing, seemed like everytime we turned around, we got another question - why wasn't this on last month's report? Like we have any control over when things show up. Unfortunetly, we have no control and are at their mercy.
