If you had the choice that is. Both of us are professional and well seasoned in our area of business. I am confident we will work well together. Perception is what worryies me. The trial to diminish that perception may be difficult. Should I go forth or rethink this decision?

I got hired at American Eagle (YES!), and the manager told me taht the schedules had already been printed for this week, so they are going to call me later in the week to let me know when my orientation (4 hours) is. I was wondering, 1) are they FOR SURE going to call me? or should i call them? and 2) what should i expect at this orientation? I meet the staff and learn the methods?

I am very uncomfortable giving my Social Security to employers, etc..any advice? Can they sell your information if obtained and things get sour? What's the worst they can do with a social security number if they might have not liked you/needed you?

A year ago, I had quit a job because I thought I wasn't getting paid enough. Because I was naive, I became enraged after I asked my boss for a raise which was denied.

My resignation stated that I would not help to train a new employee if one was acquired to take my place. I also mentioned that I would not remember the management, as well as thanking them for wasting my one year of life for the unappreciated experience. For enjoyment, I threw in a line "PS: This is my formal declaration of independence from ............" because I sent it in on July 4th....

Generally, I want to know if I am able to get hired again at that job. Would my chances increase if I got a manager's recomendation? How about having a high school diploma?

Thnx for your input! Advice appreciated!!

I'm an instructor at a college in Florida. A recent graduate from my university emailed me and asked me that question. Basically, she wanted to know what does she do if she has her degree but has no work experience. She claims that she has been on 5 interviews in various fields and that each of them seems to have gone well. However, she never gets a call back. She hasn't tried to apply for a position in her field of study yet. She claims all the jobs require a degree AND 2-3 years work experience. I told her to apply for an internship, and say that she'll even work for free for a month just to counter the lack of experience. She seems to be displeased with that answer and I want to provide her with positive feedback. Yet, I'm sorta lost on whatelse to say other than, try and find a related field, work for cheap if you need to, then apply for other positions elsewhere. If you were in my position, what would you tell her? What other ideas could you suggest?

I have been working as a mortgage loan processor for the last 2 years. Business has been REALLY slow these last couple of months. Everyone at my office is related to each other, except me. If I don't close any loans, I don't get paid. Well, the other processors are getting all of the files, since one of them is the boss' wife, and the other one is his sister. Everyone has stopped talking to me, they barely say hi to me, what upsets me the most, is that the boss' wife was my friend years before I started working here (she's the one that hired me btw) and she's not talking to me either, and I have no idea why!!! I mean, I would understand if they had to lay me off because there's no work, all they have to do is tell me! There's no reason for them to treat me this way. So should I just leave, or do I have to give them 2 weeks notice?

I just heard from one place that I went for interview. I thought I did great but she just inform me that I didn't get the job. I'm kind of feeling down now. I do great in my interview yet I don't get the job. I'm starting to lose my confidence. I been unemployed for 3 months. I have in these past 3 month got some job offers but I didn't like the job so I didn't take it. Nor I search a lot for jobs. I had a interview yesterday but I called and cancelled it and asked to go today and she called but I never return her call nor I feel like it now after hearing the bad news. What should I do. The last place I didn't get the job should I email her to get some feedback. What should I write? Should I go to interview today and call her even through i'm feeling very down
