Okay, I know some trucking companies will take you and train and pay for your CDL then you can work for them, are there any other companies that do this? I've heard that aerospace companies used to do this for aviation mechanics, but not sure where I can find information on these things, any suggestions?

I had a company contact me today and said they got my number from my resume posted at Hotjobs. com. The lady said that her company was hiring entry level mortgage processors and she wanted to know if I was interested in an interview. I told her I was interested, and she gave me all of the details. At the end, she said I would have to bring $200 in the form of cash or money order for some sort of mortgage processors fee (or something like that). HUGE RED FLAG!! Why would you ever need to bring money to a job interview? Is there really a certification cost that mortgage loan processors have to pay? It all sounds like a scam to me and I'm not going to go to the interview.

I just got my undergraduate degree and am about to begin applying for jobs. Next year I plan on going to graduate school but continuing to work. Should I put it on my resume that I have graduate school plans, and if so, where would I put it? I'm not sure if an employer would view it as a good thing that I will be continuing my education, or if they will think it will take away from job. Any thoughts?

Me and him use to talk and she started going in jealous rages, she even accused me of going with him, even though i havent. Now she is very ignorant,i dont like bad atmosphere and have tried being friendly and today this woman at work tried to bring me in the conversation and this nasty b**** who i cant stand turned her back and blanked me,i felt really small. Everytime i see her i get angry because nobody knows what she's really like except me,she also flirts with all the guys and act like she's beautiful. Anything i can do to get even or deal with my anger everytime i see her pathetic face?

I've been on the job hunt for serveral weeks. After hearing back from very few inquires, I decided to take a job at restaurant. I wait tables. I just started last week.

Today, I got a call from a company that I went to an interview w/ about 2-3 weeks ago. They have offered me the job.

This job is just what I have been looking for. Great hours, good work environment, notable company, great benefits. At the serving job, I just feel like I'm settling. When I orginially got the job, I told them I would be there for the long term. I figured that this job had past me and I was finding very few other positions in the paper, etc.

Now what do I do? The company hasn't given me a start date yet. I'm meeting with them at the end of the week. But, in the mean time, I'm not sure how to quit the serving job.

I feel bad, but this position is much better. What do I do or say?

I thought it was at least partially a design job, but it is a detail oriented managerial position working with non-creative people in a catty and conservative office full of bitchy office ladies. I am totally miserable and this job makes me feel like an idiot every part of every day. I don't like moving around from job to job, but clearly I need to do something. What would a good exit strategy be? I don't want to screw over the company, but I am screwing over myself by leaving with no option and would never just immediately leave without tying things up.

Hi everyone, I'd like some professional or anecdotal advice pelase:

I handed in my notice (4 weeks) a few weeks ago. My official last working day is Friday 22nd June. I have 8.5 days holiday outstanding - I want to take them which means my last actual working day will be this Tuesday (tomorrow), leaving after lunch. I am happy to work the afternoon and just start my hols on Wed. My employer is not co-operating; my boss will not make herself available to discuss and confirm that she is happy with this (because she is cross I am leaving).
Can my boss make me work until 22nd June and pay me 8.5 days extra, or should I be allowed to take it?

Ok my wife is becoming very unmotivated. She has had 8 jobs in the past year and a half, which I understand she did not like so 1 she got fired and the other 7 she quit. Some after just a few days, well we are not financially stable as I make 45000 which is fine for bills, but just when we get some money saved up she quits a job and it is 2 weeks before she get another. I love her to death, but it is just killing me. She told me last night that I should just work some overtime and she would stay home and clean/cook. We tried that with a job I had about a year ago and she never cooked or cleaned she just spent the $ I gave her. What do I do? I was financially stable until this started happening now we are getting behind on bills and low on money all the time. I just do not know what to do anymore?

There's usually an agreed notice period in your contract for a job (usually one month or one week) but if you know you'll be leaving before this point (due to moving away or going back to college for example) should you let them know sooner as a good will gesture, or wait until the actual notice period?

Also, is it the done thing to let employers know if you're applying for other jobs or keep it to yourself until you get a confirmed offer?

When I play poker or bet on sports I get a rush which is the same feeling as when I was in high school and college playing sports. Since I'm not going pro in sports anytime soon gambling is the only thing that gives me that kind of feeling. Is there a job that anyone could think of that would give me this feeling?????

Here's the deal, I'm pretty much bored with my job and my life. I work a 9 to 5 in an office and I'm starting to realize its just not cutting it anymore. My daily routine during the week is usually gym, work, dinner, tv, bed. I'm looking for a different career path that will give me that rush I've been looking.

The only time I really feel a rush is when I'm playing sports or gambling. Since those two are out of the question as a profession does anyone have ideas on a job that can fulfill these needs?

Ok well tomorrow, I am going to my first job interview. It's at a nearby video rental store. But the only thing is, it starts at 4:30. Since I'm not going to walk fast (because sweating would not look good, or smell good, at an interview) and since I'll have all my books with me, it'll probably take me about 30 minutes to walk over there. My school gets out at 3:45, so that gives me 30 minutes in between. It usually takes me 10 minutes to walk from school to my house. Then if I do go home, I'll drop my books off, but since it's farther away from my house, it'll still take 30 minutes.

So basically:

If I go to the interview in my school uniform, I will get there at 4:15.

If I go home to change, I will make it between 4:25 - 4:30

So given the tight schedule I am on, should I try to go home and change into something else, or come to the interview in my Catholic School Uniform? I don't want to be late, but I want a good first impression.

I'm applying to work for Borders, and the application says to have references ready. I'm not 100% sure what that means. I know what a reference is, but how many should I have (I'm applying for bookseller or inventory team), who should I ask (professors and old guidance counselors?), and what should they be? Are they just names and contact information, or are they actual letters of recommendation?
