I just started a new job as a receptionist and I've made a few mistakes this past week. I keep worrying that I will get fired. What do you think?

I currently work as a staff accountant at a CPA firm and I make $10.00 an hour. The lady that was there before me made just over $13.00 an hour after 7 years of employment. I do get a paid vacation and we do have a 401k.

I have been thinking about going to real estate school to become a real estate agent. I love going into houses and looking around at the different layouts and decorating themes, etc.

I like the idea of being self-employed and having a job where I am not behind a desk all day. The downside is the hours - people calling at all times of the day and night, 7 days a week.

I have always wanted to have my own "business" and I have considered opening a bookkeeping business, but I also am leaning toward real estate. Maybe I could do both?

I would appriciate any input! Thanks!

Hey ya-so I've finished up a 3 day physical/drug screening/DOJ background/fingerprint/TB test etc, and I'm headed back home which is about 300 miles away later today. It looks like I have the job, but I have some expenses that I wanted to ask the new employer about covering (gas, motel, food only). Anyone know when a good time to ask would be and how to approach the HR manager about it? Thanx.

hi. im a junior in a top 30 university (US news) double majoring in business administration and psychology. i am thinking of potential careers to get into where i can meet a potential husband who is intelligent, loyal and financially stable.

i am physically attractive, but i've been played by soooo many (frat) guys who are players. i made the mistake of joining a sorority and ended up meeting a lot of shady (frat) guys. i don't want to make the same mistake with my career.

and would you say it's bad to work with your husband? like co workers. or be in the same field as your husband?

an advice i want. for example, i was talking to a frat guy (who was like 40 yrs old, so he's pretty wise?!) last night and he was telling me to be a pharmaceutical rep. as i'll get to meet many physicians and doctors through the job, and it's relatively decent pay.

big generalisation but would you say doctors have many girls going for them, i don't want that much competition...

Hi, I am beginning to look for a new job and I was just curious if you all could give me an approximate time frame of how long it took you. I am only interested in the serious professional not a part time job. I have both my BA and MBA and about a year of real world experience. Any advice suggestions, I'm looking to move and relocate as soon as possible for my own sanity. Speficially looking at Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philly, or the NYC area in case anyone has any leads. Thanks

I am a clerical employee in your basic cubicle environment, not a lifeguard, yet they're telling me CPR training is 'not optional.' That sounds illegal to me.

I'm in Arizona, if that matters. Thanks!

I just accepted a job offer. I start on June 25th, but I just got a child support case letter notifying me about my court date for child support on July 11th. I've been waiting on that FOREVER!!!! What should I do? I'm afraid to even ask for a few hours off because I'll still be in the probationary period (90 days).

I work at a retail store and THere was this guy like 22 years old that was fired today, THere was another guy along with him that quit casue the other got fired, THey are both losers and like everything they say is b.s.

I run into them today and the one 22 year old is all saying that he wasn't going to take a piss test as they had requested, and claimed he was going to sue cause of being fired, By the way he has no case,

Towards the end of the conversation he says that he is going to wait until anither guy that works their around 20 years old is off at 4 p.m. and he is "going to kick his azz". I told my supervisor and the guy that he said he was going to do this to.

The two guys came in and out of the store and were hanging out near the exits,

the kid called for a security escort to his car, DUnno if they were out there at the time or not?

Do you think i did the right thing by reporting this????

Who has the opportunities, (in the U.S.) to start/own your own business. I would like to start my own business. But in todays society I'm not sure that everyone has all the opportunities to do this. Do you need a degree, lots of money, good credit, and does ethncicity effect your chances, of getting the help and support that one needs from government programs, and other organizations? All help is appreciated.

Rx pain pills that is (yes I know they are narcotics). I had been moving with a girlfriend all day long a few weeks ago. At the end of the day my body was hurting and tired. She gave me two of her prescription pain pills. I had to take a pee test within the next few days for a job offer. I have taken many pee tests in the past and they were checking for illegal substances. When did they start testing for Rx?
The urine test for the job showed the pain pills. Now I might not get the job. H.R. is deciding what to do with the situation right now.
I understand that the pills were in my friends name and I cannot prove the prescription is mine. I admitted to that. Should I be denied this job because of this situation?
