I am currently in high school, but I am thinking about college. I have always wanted to be a lawyer when I am older. When I graduate high school I am planning on going to community college to getting an associates degree as a paralegal and then transfering to a university to get a bachalors degree.

I was wondering if someone could give me any advice. Working as a paralegal would give me some experience in the field of law, but is it worth it and would it help my chances of getting into law school. I know I have to maintain a good GPA and pass the LSAT, but would working as a paralegal and still attending college be worth it.

My buddy is involved in a lawsuit against the people he use to work with. Everything is finally moving along after he was doing all of the work and investigations and whatever else. The paralegal assigned to his case is an a** but was pulled off the case during the summer so she could study for the bar. The person they gave the case to was freakin' great but was there only for the summer. The other person has been put back on the case-- and I swear-- I am not a lawyer but this chick is a real lazy idiot who f***ed up the case by not doing her job why it's dragged on so long. Could he ask the attorney he don't want her with the reasons? And if he says she is the only one what happens then?

I have an *** as a boss, who is used to having a PA. He doesn`t have one in this role and he`s trying to force on me things that aren`t on my job description. I talked and talked several time about this and he implied i wasn`t flexible and that my job description doesn`t mean anything. If i want, he can change it so that it `reflects` the reality better. But i haven`t agreed to this job as Project Coordinator so that i can do his invoices, send personal gifts on his behalf, clean offices of fired personnel, etc.
I said that i wanted more money, but he just laughed. I talked to the HR, but nothing happened. I`ve been in this firm for only 6months, i am not sure if quitting would be good bef. 1year, but my `job` is really putting me down.
Any advice?

I am a over 40 male from a minority group. I was the only male in a department of less than 20 women (There was a strong anti male "Men are idiots" bias in general). I was placed in a position where I felt pressured to resign due to changes towards me and my work at an organization in the South. When I first got hired, I was told initially that I was a full time salaried employee (I signed an agreement to this effect). 11 months after this, I was told I was an hourly employee and that my conversion to be a salaried employee did not occur. I expressed my disappointment in this and said that I will clock in (as requested) for a month until they get the paperwork straightened out. Before the month is over, I'm hauled into my bosses office, told that I violated some Internet usage policy and that I will be terminated. Then, at this meeting, I was told that I would be terminated or I could resign. I then, with less than 15 minutes to think about this resigned.

Do I have a case?

I am a accounting major and have accpeted a position with one the the "big 4 accounting firms" in their taxation department. I love law, but question weather it is worth the investment of spending nearly 35K a year. Is it better to get a law degree with focus on taxation or a master in taxation that the firm will pay more then half of my cost?

I am not sure whether im that kind of person fit for a job such as being a lawyer. However, ive always had this sense of passion towards justice advocacy and equality. also, whenever we are asked to speak in class ( im a highschool student) for a persuasive speech and literary defense, my teachers as well as my classmates would praise me for being such a good and remarkable speaker. As a matter of fact, my teacher even thought that i could be a politician. Also, my teachers say that i am good in writing as well. However, unlike many aspiring lawyers, ive never been involved in a debating club wherein students are sent out to compete and stuff. Im kind of a low profiled student. does this matter? should i continue to aspire and be a lawyer?

I am a 5'8" 300lb female and I work in a call center. I have been off work since Monday. When I went to work last night I found that my chair had been taken away and in place of it was a new chair. Unlike my old dusty purple colored chair, this new chair was bright red and doesn't have any arms. I asked my supervisor what happened to my chair and she said she didn't know that some peoples chairs were changed. Upon looking around the only chairs that were different were that of the people who are my size and larger. I asked why this happened and was told that it was a safety issue. On the side, another employee said that they heard that it was because we break the chairs. I have been sitting in the same chair for the past 3 years. I feel like a target in this big red chair with no arm rests. I want to get my old chair back or have other people have chairs like mine. What can I do?

I think I may be offered a new job this afternoon (fingers crossed!!), and have been asked the question "could you give two weeks notice at your current position?"

I do not have a contract at my current job, can I legally give two weeks notice or would it have to be a month? (I get paid monthly)

Also, where i work isn't a very nice place, lots of bitching etc going on, so I can imagine them making my life hell if I do give notice, if this happens can I walk out?

Ps I won't be giving notice until a new job is secure!!
