If by mistake they change the keys at my office... the managers do not work until 10 am, the owners also.... I go in at 8 am. and I can not get in for more than 3 hours.... They have to pay me my 3 hours right? Because it was not my fault it was theirs... this people anyhow... need more school.... I still don’t know how the owned a business.... Live in Mia. Fl

why people can not focus on the question and always have to add some remark just to fell more powerful and intelligent....? I wonder... you do not want to help do not answer!

Yes it is the owners responsibility to make the premises available to the employees during regular working hours. If you were there and waited three hours until they opened the office, you were on the clock. It is your responsibility to call your supervisor and notify them that you are not able to get into the building. You made the good faith effort to be there and they must honor this.

Most places are required to pay you for time spent at the job (if you are working) but it also might be different from state to state

You will probably have to check with the Florida Department of Labor on that one -- different states have different rules. It may not have been your fault, but you didn't actually work either.
