I filled out the FAFSA and they say I don't qualify for any grant money. My husband put my name and email into this website www.usgrantfunding.com and they called me. I answered a few questions and the guy told me I qualify for $26,000 for 3 years of school. He spent a good while talking about the company and how it works, being a "middleman" like H&R block is for taxes. Saying that they charge 1% of whatever I can get in the grant. Which is $260 in my case but they won't start anything until that is sent in a money order to an adderess in Delaware. I happen to be a fraud mans christmas present I am so gullible. Luckily I have friends who aren't. He says his name is Tiger Johnson and the phone number is 1-302-269-7649 ext. 4012. He never asked for my adderess. Does anybody know about this company and or scam. I mean if it's real, which I wish it was someone please help me figure out what to do.

I currently have a BS in interdisciplinary studies (from a basically unknown school) and was accepted into medical school. However, I am trying to decide whether or not to continue since medical education cost so much. I am very bright, although I need to work on interpersonal skills. What I really want to know is how to get started in an investment advisor career. I know there might be several years of slaving, but there is at least 7 years of that to become a doctor anyway.

I am going to be giving my 3 weeks notice this Friday. I work in an accounting firm and have been here over 1 year. I have heard that the boss will tell you to leave the day you give your resignation because you are leaving to another firm. Would I be eligible for termination pay or severance pay?

I am having a job interview to get a promotion soon. I was told it would be mostly behavioral questions. I'm not sure what questions to expect. It's to go from the teller line to a loan officer position. Is there anything I should look out for or try to do? I get nervous in pressure situations and I really want this job. Is there anything I can do to prepare? Or anything I should have handy. I need to make this an excellent interview because I don't have the training and I need to impress them with my ability to answer questions better than the person who is already trained to do this job.

Two months ago I was diagnosed with lyme disease. About a month after my diagnosis, I was too exhausted and in too much pain to work. I told my job that I needed to take some time off to rest and my doctor wrote them a letter. However, it's been three weeks now and I am still unable to go to work. Can someone explain to me how collecting unemployment or disability works? Or what I need to qualify? Or at least direct me to a website that could help? THANKS!

So I'm 21 years old working for a company that I hate. I'm sleeping on my brothers couch with no rent bills and still wind up broke every month just from all the debt I've been able to build up in 3 years. I've tried to get a better job but unfortunately I have no college to back me up and I only have a GED. I would go to school but that costs way too much (kinda ironic how you need school to get a good job but you need a good job to go to school). So anyways... I'm not really expecting any answers on this one.. just thought I would get some stuff off my mind.

my manager is trying to give me a run around in this issue. the money that i as asked to pay is the amount that i paid for my H1 visa fee. this was supposed to be paid by the company but they asked me to pay myself after i joined the company. they should have let me know this before i joined the company and i was left with no choice at that point rather than paying from my pocket. they reimbursed the amount later but they gave it as a sign-on bonus and since i am leaving before the contract ended, they are asking to pay it back. i really dont want to pay. the amount, it is $3,600. But i am worried that if i leave without paying them, will my new employer know about this which might give them a very wrong impression on me. can my current employer contact my new employer? is this legal?

Well this is probabaly gonna get flagged but oh well

I am currently a student and i work for the college in a kicthen in the dineing halls. I have many female coworkers that get paid the same as me despite the fact that i do 3 quarters of there jobs. For example when one of the girls has tpo do pasta (about 100 pounds at a time) I have to stop what im doing to load it into the pot for her then she stands there and does nothing untill its time to take it out where I have to then again stop what im doing to do that for her. I then have to pour the sauce and carry it where it needs to go because the girls all claim they are not strong enough. Its like that with every single job their including things like taking out garbage and cleaning (if stuff has to be moved) I have to do my job and their jobs for the same minimum wage payment and it is not fair.

I am not sexist at all this is not equal pay for equal work because i do all the work!

My offer letter says that I will have to pay back my hiring bonus if I leave my new job in less than 12 months. If I start the job and find that important details of the company and position were misrepresented during the interview process, is there a way that I can quit and not have to pay back the hiring bonus? What would they do to collect it?

My mom has been working at a Hometown Buffet in Californa for two years getting paid the minimum wage $7.75 or so. is this right? Can she do something about it. She has not gotten a raised for her performance it's not like she doesn't have papers she is a U.S Citizen. She never calls in sick, according to other co-workers she is very hard working lady, and when ever they need her on her day off she goes in. According to her manager everyone should be getting a raise at the begining of this coming year, but what about her performance doesn't this company give any raises for employee performance or every year. Can you advise if there is something she can do? Can she get fired for asking for raise? She has already asked the manager from the store and it seems he has no clue. Does anyone know how this company works. I feel this is not RIGHT!!! Can she ask someone else other than the Store Manager? Thank You ALL....and please don't say just to look for another job at her age (59) it's hard.

HI,

My friend hooked me up with an appointment with Primerica, and I have already attended one of their meetings. I can get the job 100% if I want to. The question is... do I WANT to?!?!

It says on Wiki that this is the biggest financial service organization in North America. At the meeting, they talked about how I didn't need an education, they will accept eveyrone. Our schedule is flexible to whatever we want. We go through a training program which usually takes around 3-6 months, depending on how fast you want it. After that, we take a licence exam and can start communicating with clients on our own. We can earn $800 for 2-4 hours of advising for our clients. HOWWWW????? How do we not need education? How can we earn that much so quick??? WTF is going on?

Anyone have experience with Primerica? I am a full time university student so I'll be doing this part time (they allow it) if I decide to. I want to know whether or not its a good idea to continue with this.

My dad is Half deaf
He has been jobless for 6 years or so now. We're really struggling to survive. Just recently he tried getting a government job as a security officer for a juvenile center. They made him go through months of testing and backround checks(almost 8 months) and then finally they ask him to take a hearing test, and he ends up failing so after all that.. They tell him he can't get a job.

Now my question to you guys is. Is there any way he can get disability checks? Or maybe be able to get a job because he is Half deaf?
I really don't know what to do.
He can hear fine enough to do his job but he can't get hired for anything. Even a minimum wage job.
Any advice would be great.

My husband and I live in Ohio and currently there are no jobs where we live. We have recieved an offer in Indiana and we're all for it but we need $2000 to break our lease and pay all the fees associated with moving and getting into a new apartment. From then on we could reasonably make enough to pay it back.
We have no savings and are currently living off of crappy unemployment checks and emergency food stamps (which isn't enough).

Do you know of any possible ways we can get $2000?
Or a place that will give us a loan even though we are unemployed?

As I said, there are no jobs in the small town we live in, so please help us out!

I recently accepted a job that starts in 4 days. The job has a 90-day probation period and is "at will". Recently I was told that I will have to ocassionally go to their other office (which is a 1 hour drive both ways). I was originally told that I would only work in their main office (which is a short bus ride away from my house). I mainly accepted the position because of the proximity and access to public transportation.

I can have at least 3 offers in my hand by the end of the month if I decide to renege on the job I accepted. One of the jobs can be a long term job that is an excellent career path. So I'm not concerned about being unemployed.

How can I quit the job I accepted? I think they misrepresented the position.

I've worked in several stores since I was 16 but now I want something that pays a little more. 8 dollars is minimum wage here in canada. I'm looking for something over 10 dollars. Maybe 15? I'm currently changing programs in college so I don't think I can actually find work using my education. I'm transfering to a nutrition program at another university.

Anyways, I need work!
What kind of positions should I search for that would suit my age and salary expectations? Office work? A store manager? What else? Maybe something in the health care industry?
