been told by an agency to go for another interview despite my protest that its less money as he says I will have more opportuntities there to learn etc and may get bigger bonuses. not sure to trust him or not and I really cannot afford £10k less especially as i will be paying more for travel and probably work longer hours :( but there are opportunities there to learn more but then again with learning more it means more pressure and not much personal time.Thing is i know if i don't go for it the agency will drop me and if i'm successful and they won't budge on the money and I decline the job the agency will drop me too and in the finance market you can't afford to get a bad name wiht agencies

Hi, I got an offer to work 6 months for a staffing company names RANDSTAD.

Now the positive thing is that the billing company I will be work for has a good reputation and it is minimum commute. The down side is I've heard horrible experience with staffing company like they will treat you bad after you sign the contract, higher tax at the year end and the billing company will used temps like a work machine, or you will have difficulty being integrated with the permanent workers there.

This is not my only option and I can also chose to work at another company which is also nice, permanent, but 1h commute. I know people will find choice 2 much better, but I hate driving and I don't have difficulty to find another permanent job after the temp is over. However, if these stories about staffing, temp jobs are true, I will definitely drive 2hs everyday to get my bread. Thanks!

Degree was 4 year sandwich course, gained a 2:2.

I have been told it would speed up some processes involved in becoming an accountant, any knowledge here would be great!

The point is I've been working at a nail salon getting paid under-the-table. And for 1 1/2 years. Do they check your social security to see that you aren't getting paid under-the-table? Thanks answers appreciated.

I found a very good company that has 2 attractive available positions posted on its website.

I would be willing to work at either position.

Can/Should I apply to both or is that a bad idea? Will the HR department notice that I applied to both? (I bet they would).

If the HR department saw that I applied for only 1 position would they independently think I could also be a good for for the other position?

Would do you suggest, apply for just 1 or Both?

Thanks

I am interviewing for a position which is almost a mirror of my current job, but the pay scale starts significantly higher (and my current company is unwilling to offer a raise despite exceptional performance). How do I address this inevitable question ('I see you have similar experience at X Company? What is your interest in working with us at Y Company?) while sounding professional? I cannot offer an indication that growth prospects, etc are better at Y Company

Currently, I am a junior studying economics at Syracuse. Once I graduate I plan to move to NYC to become a financial analyst at an investment bank. I will spend about 4-5 yrs in that industry before going back to school for my MBA. Also plan on getting my CFA destinction during that time.

My question is whether this is a feasible career path? Is it realistic that I can work the intensive hours as an analyst, study for the GMAT and CFA exams, and have a personal life? Do most I-bankers who get their MBA get all three levels of the CFA before going back to school?

I live in Boston walking distance to Goldman Sachs. My background is scientific (biotech). I thrive at data analysis and long tedious projects. Member of patent bar. I recently met someone who said they would take someone like me since I'm very bright, in my prime, and willing to work very long hours. I have been to the website. There is an option to apply online, but I was wondering if it is to my advantage to first show in person. I'm not sure if being chiselled out of stone and 6'5" would make them remember me when they saw my online application (I would likely have to do thereafter). Any thoughts on what would work best to my advantage?

Ok so i joined this website that you join for free to take 1 survey a day for free. First i think the website starts with tinyurl or something like that, but anyway, you have to be 18 or older to take any of the surveys, so I put in my mom's email address and birthdate. Throughout the survey I was asked if I want to recieve info from some website thingie, but I did not notice that i could press a skip button instead of a submit button. I don't know if I will be charged to get that info so if you know please tell me, otherwise I'M DEAD!!!!! Also, give me the name of that website cause I forgot the name. I really appreciate it if you answer!
