I filled out the FAFSA and they say I don't qualify for any grant money. My husband put my name and email into this website www.usgrantfunding.com and they called me. I answered a few questions and the guy told me I qualify for $26,000 for 3 years of school. He spent a good while talking about the company and how it works, being a "middleman" like H&R block is for taxes. Saying that they charge 1% of whatever I can get in the grant. Which is $260 in my case but they won't start anything until that is sent in a money order to an adderess in Delaware. I happen to be a fraud mans christmas present I am so gullible. Luckily I have friends who aren't. He says his name is Tiger Johnson and the phone number is 1-302-269-7649 ext. 4012. He never asked for my adderess. Does anybody know about this company and or scam. I mean if it's real, which I wish it was someone please help me figure out what to do.

Yeah well, the same people called me today also with the same phone number, same info same H&R Block example and everything and also in Deleware and said I had to send a money order for $500 which is the 1% of the $50,000 they said I was guaranteed approval for, but that they had so recieve the money order then they would send me the information package, and she said that they are not registered with the BBB cause is costs almost $1,000 a month and that they have been in business for 7 years and have a 6 week money back guarantee but said it could take up to 8 weeks to get your check??? It sounds way too good to be true, she sounded so confincing also though saying that I needed to keep my reciepts for the next 5 years because the government aduits 1 out of every 11 people that get this money...I could really use the money, but it sounds too good to be true which tells me it's a SCAM!!!

I'd say yes it's a scam. How could he know ahead of time what kind of grant someone would give you? And where is this "grant" coming from anyway - did you ask that? It's possible that he would help you get a LOAN, but you'd still have to pay that back, and he shouldn't be asking for the fee up front. The fact that he's asking is a HUGE red flag with "scam" written on it.

FAFSA is the official way of qualifying for student aid.

I wouldn't trust him if I were you. I was a mortgage broker, which is basically a middleman for home loans, and we would get paid at the signing of the loan, never beforehand. You pay him for his services rendered, not future services. Plus whenever anyone asks for a money order it should be a huge red flag to you.

It it wise of you to exercise caution on this "deal out of the blue". To learn more about internet scams, visit the following website http://earningincome.blogspot.com/2007/11/10-ways-to-identify-scam-on-internet.html and of course you can always visit the Better Business Bureau and verify through them. Always remember, question everything!
