I recently accepted a job that starts in 4 days. The job has a 90-day probation period and is "at will". Recently I was told that I will have to ocassionally go to their other office (which is a 1 hour drive both ways). I was originally told that I would only work in their main office (which is a short bus ride away from my house). I mainly accepted the position because of the proximity and access to public transportation.

I can have at least 3 offers in my hand by the end of the month if I decide to renege on the job I accepted. One of the jobs can be a long term job that is an excellent career path. So I'm not concerned about being unemployed.

How can I quit the job I accepted? I think they misrepresented the position.

Call them up and be honest as soon as you can so they can replace your position. A lot of people out there without work.

Have you mentioned this to them? If they're a good place they might be sympathetic to this and work out an agreement you never know.

I think you can still quit if you haven't signed anything yet. If you have then you might need some proper legal advice...

Tell them that you will have to leave due to transportation issues, you were under the impression it was not as they represented it.
