Hey Ya'll,

I signed the seperation agreement my company offered me because lawyers said it would be hard to prove the fired me for no reason as I live in an at will employment state and becasue I already landed anoher job 7 days later.

They gave me 7 days to sign(due 8/24) and 7 days after receipt to rescind.

I signed it on 8/22 and Fed Exed it back they got it on the 23rd, They did not issue a check till the 31st, I got it via messenger on the 1st.

To further add injury to insult they shorted me over $3500 and after a phone call I got smart and switched to email for proof and they had nerve to ask me to wait until Tuesday becasue of the holiday, mind you they did so in an email message.

I said no f-ing way send it fed ex for Saturday delivery it still has not gotten here.

Did they violate the terms of the agreement and can I now sue and keep the money?

I have two degrees, yet jobs seem to be hiding. I've visited all of the major job sites but its all the same crap. But yet the unemployment rate is down, I would like to know where. I live in west central Georgia and I need a job that pays enough so can pay rent and my car payment just to name a few. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANY WEBSITES FOR JOBS THATS NOT ON THE MAINSTREAM?

Hi there. I just received a job offer and am going to start working next week. I am currently a "freelance artist" aka underpaid intern at an ad agency. I was never given an end date for employment, therefore, I am pretty much free to leave them without two weeks notice. What's th best way to notify an employer that you're leaving? I already informed them that I had started interviewing but they don't know I got the job (since I found out yesterday).

In an interview one is asked as to why he/she is quitting the job. In most of the cases one quits due to financial reasons but it sounds greedy if we say this. Pls tell me how best we can manage such a situation

Ok, i've messed up big time! 9 days ago i was floored by a viral infection the point that i couldn't move. I contacted my G.P last Monday but couldn't get an appointment until Thursday, so it took six days to get advice. My G.P gave me a Line to cover me until next Thursday because i was exhausted and had an unusually high temperature. Now, one of my collegues was leaving last night, so i popped down to say goodbye. No bloody managers ever go to these things yet as i was standing, drink in hand, one walked in the door. I am now bricking it. Can they sack me if my G.P has covered me and told me not to go back? Any advice would be well appreciated. And yes, i am an idiot :-)

My first job is paying me great, the hours are reasonable, and the people are nice. The only problem is that I'm still in high school while the people I work with are all college-age or older. Plus, my good friend (while we had a class together last year) is now a college student and he hired me on... but he's now my boss! It's a transition that's hard to adjust with to say the least, but I want to persevere...

As a recent grad, I am now in the job market (obviously!). After months of searching, I found a job that really fits my criteria. I have the experience (7 years of journalism), but once again, I'm a new grad.

The low if $34K and the high is $43K.

What do I ask for with a salary requirement? Do I include it in the cover letter?

Obviously I'd be happy with $34K, but should I aim higher? I have the skills, the experience, and the drive.

Any advice would be great.
