detroit is the most pessimistic cities in the country.... they have a very defeatist attitude and keep many new idea's out..... the only great thing about living in Detroit would be the pistons and Northern Michigan.... Atlanta is much more diverse and dynamic oh yeah Detroit is so segretated too.

Ive grown up and was born around the detroit area my whole life. The employment rate is down. If hes an aerospace engineer then hes proably going to work for an airliner, proably Northwest. I used to work for the airport down there, its not too bad, and its about 15 min from the city of Detroit. But then again everyone has the same stereotype of people around the detroit area. Thugs, rapists, murderers. There are some people like that there, but then again there are people like that everywhere. It just pisses me off people judge the city without being there first hand to see for themselves what it is.

I personally would not like to live in Detroit. I have heard that crime is rampant there, so I would fear for my safety and the safety of my loved ones.
I guess the only good thing I could say about Detroit is: They have a hell of a great hockey team. Go Red Wings!!!

I have never been there but remember hearing as a child about the high murder rate. I think of the automobile manufacturing when I think of Detroit although I don't think it is a big industry there anymore.
