The way I see it, I only want a job for the money. I don't really have an avid interest in anything besides video games, and cars. But from what I see, I don't really want to be a video game programmer or a car mechanic. Both aren't that great paying or exactly something to be proud of.

So is it wrong to want a high paying job, just because of the salary?

I want to set up a baby sitting bussiness where we could make crafts and sell them and I would keep a small portion, and sell craft kits that I'd make from stuff at Wal-mart, and then sell it there, but I was wondering what are the steps? Do I need a business license? (This is a 13-year-old's question, really, not mine) If I'm a juvinlie do I have a specific regulations or taxes I need to know about?

1) Are you able to use someone as a dependent if they have stayed in your house, basically rent free a whole year BUT they receive their mail at another address? I know there are other things they must qualify but lets say they pass all other qualifications for a dependent and you are wondering about this one.

2) Are you legally bound to notify someone if you are claiming them as a dependent? I know that sounds shady but theres a person who fits all the qualifications of a dependent BUT I believe they would try to bribe me if I told them I was going to list them as a dependent. I know this person, they would say the only way I let you use me is if you give me x percent of the return you get.

Alright, I just found out that I owed taxes for two years (2003, 2005) and they are going to small claims court. I have found the W2's just a minute ago and they were not turned in because I thought they were my copies and believed that the payments were taken care of. I guess not. Since it has been taken to this point, can I just go in and file now (go to the office give them the w2's) or do I have to wait for court? I would rather get this done and over with BEFORE that. Please let me know ASAP.

Worried.........

My most recent job performance review includes the statement that I do not work a full 40 hours per week. I proved that the supporting data used for the accusation was inaccurate on many days (I had several emails which were sent AFTER the report said I logged off my computer on several days). Furthermore, the IS employee who provided my boss the report stated that they currently have no accurate method of measuring employee's login and logoff times, and the report should not be used to prove the number of working hours.

I asked my supervisor to remove the statement of not working 40 hours per week since I proved it as inaccurate. He refused to remove the comment, but instead allowed me to write a rebuttal letter that would be attached to my review.

I am employed in Michigan, and am considered as an "at will" employee. I do not work under any contract. Is a supervisor free to include any information he/she wants to in an employee review?

I have a wedding dress that retailed new for $5k, but if I were to try to sell it now (9 years later), I could only get $200 for it (on ebay). if I were to donate it, how much could I write off? Conceviably if I were to find just the "right" buyer, it would be worth at least $1500, but most consignment stores won't even think of selling a wedding dress that is older than 1 year. And it could take me years and a lot of work to find the right buyer.

I had a one year rental contract on my place which, upon expiry, converted to a month to month contract. It says that I have to give 30 days notice to leave the place. I gave that notice on November 26th, for a departure date of January 16th - way more than 30 days.

My landlord is saying, though, that I have to pay rent through to the end of January, that I can't just pay to January 16th. The contract mentions nothing explicity in that sense.

Anybody know legally where I stand on this?

Thanks!
