I think I may have gotten a credit card fraud pulled against me. Just wondering where a person may have gotten my info.

Thanks.

I can get other peoples in MY line of work- to all you idiots out there who implied I was trying to steal anothers credit. I wanted to know if there were sites that sold them. It may just be something with a hacker I guess. Or maybe some other way. Thanks to those who answered nicely.

Yes, there are places that sell Social Security numbers. It could also be a employee that sells your info or it was stolen from a laptop.

If a person steals info from a back, or hacks into a credit card agency, or your home computer they can get your info. But when you use a personal PC make sure all sites are secure websites. If you suspect someone stole your identity immediatley contact all 3 credit bureaus (Esperion, Equifax, and Trans Union) to get a copy of your report. If you see suspicious activity IMMEDIATLEY report it!

People who sell phony Social Security cards just make up the numbers.

There are probably crooks who acquire personal info and then sell it to others. But I doubt you'll find a website advertising SS numbers for sale.

No, You can not get this. Even if you were to work for one of the credit reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, Transunion) is is HIGHLY unlikely that you could see SS No's.
