The Visa or MasterCard logo on your debit card allows the card to be used where ever those credit cards are accepted. Not every place that accepts credit cards can process debit card transactions.
When you use the "credit" options, you sign to authorize. When you use the "debit" option, you input your PIN to authorize. That is the only difference in the two options.

Debit cards are not like credit cards because the money is directly deducted from your bank account as oppose to a bill statement sent to your home for the credit card. The credit card is better because you can dispute any charges you have not made and you still will have money in your bank account. Credit cards, if used responsibly, improve your credit rating which means lower interest rates on many things and increase your ability to get loans.

Using your card as Debit immediately deducts funds from your account. This is good if you want to keep up to the minute balances on purchases.

Not to you, it doesn't. Both immediately deduct.
Do you want to sign or do you want to use a PIN?
