Okay, I really need a job and I thought that I would write a cover letter to make my applacation stick out. However, I have no idea what to write!

Here's the info, I worked at dunkin donuts one month ago and my reason for leaving is because i moved. the job i am applying at is a grocery store. im also leaving a refrence from my previous job. thanks!!!

Whether or not you need a cover letter is debatable; it depends on the position you are applying for. Of course, a cover letter may show you have a heightened interest over other applicants.

Since you decided to do so, the letter should reflect the qualities sought in the ad or obvious qualities of the position itself. For example, if an ad/job requires decision making, your letter should give feedback on that task. If the position requires you to handle customer complaints, then you should mention that.

Tell the employer you have the qualities it seeks. Letting them know you are motivated is not enough.

A grocery store application typically does not need a cover letter unless you're applying for store or district management. Ditch the cover letter and just focus on the application.
