This is the third time we get ripped off but this time it was the worst. We had already found a broker who was going to help us on the refainancing of our home. Everything was going to work out fine until we got a diffrent broker's call promising even better interest rates and less on closing costs. In a matter of a week he convinced us to change our mind and go with him instead. We have anoher home and the loan their is the option arm, so we knew that was not the type of loan that we wanted. We clearly told him, even wanted him to sign a paper of him knowing that was not the type of loan we wanted. Two days ago i received the contract in the mail with the check and noticed that i had gotten screwed yet again. Some of the words and dates on the papers i signed at his office do not match those on the contract, the problem is he did not give me copies of the papers i signed at his office. When i called escrow to cancel they told me that the 3 days to cancel had gone by. What do i do?

I received a letter from Lloyds TSB (my bank for the past year) offering me a "100% Guaranteed acceptance credit card" saying "You have already been approved a minimum credit limit of £5000". I currently can't get more than £2000 on a CC so I applied for this straight away, when I received the card it says I only have a £500 credit limit... which is pointless for me. I have phoned them up and they advise that I go into the store with the original offer letter (which I do have) and see what they can do. Do I have a leg to stand on by demanding that they give me the £5k limit since the letter clearly states that thats what I was applying for?

There is an empty lot on the corner of my street. It has been approved for a gas station. Between my property and the empty lot is a home which the lot owner plans to buy and tear down to increase the size of his lot. This will put the gas station right next to my lot. Will this decrease the market value of my house?

The company I work for was sold Friday, all employees were given P45.New owner is taking on all staff and from what we can assess is taking over the holiday obligations.
Shouldn't we have got paid? doesn't a P45 mean end of working for old company? Also the company has a new name now etc.

I was sick and not able to attend work 11/26-12/1. I was able to return 12/3 and my boss called and said not to come in, my shift has been covered and rudly hung up on me. Because of that conversation I slipped into a depression (which I have been treated for over the last 2 years with no depressive instances until I started working for this woman, and she knows that.) and was not able to go to work on Wed. 12/5.
I came in with a Dr.'s note (as per her request ) this morning and she had someone covering my shift again. My note stated I was able to work today and she refused to allow me to. She told me to give my keys back to her temporarily until I can come up with a Dr.'s note from having the flu. I do not have ins. or the money to go to see a Dr. and she did not ask for a Dr's note for the flu until she found out that I was out for a mental health issue.
Can I sew her for mental anguish among other things like lost wages and withholding my paycheck?

I have been registered as self employed but as of today I am no longer earning any kind of income. So if I contact Hm revenue to inform them of this will I not have to pay my national insurance contributions that I am currently paying each month? Do I have to let anyone else know of my change in circumstances? I have had to stop work due to ill health and may not be working for a few months because of it. I'm unsure what I should do?

We are looking at a foreclosure property in the DC Metro Area. The list price is $675k and is close to the market price for the area. Now, by looking at county records, I found that the home owners had bought the house in 12/2003 and paid $543k. So, the outstanding mortgage would have been much less than the asking price of $675k. Any idea how low a bank might go?

I also took the lump sum on my 401K, but did pay 7% in taxes on the lump sum distribution. I am now working out here. I realize my taxes are going to be a mess, anything special Ishould know -extra deductions, special taxes?

I overslept for a very important second interview--even though I went to bed early. I am upset because I was supposed to interview with three people and did a lot of research to prepare for the interviews. I have a lot of other things on my plate right now and normally wouldnt be interviewing but this company is at the top of my list. For any other company I would have just said, "oh well, that's that. oops." and planned to do better in the future. But, today, I called at the time the interview was supposed to begin and said something came up and asked them if I could reschedule. I didnt hear from them so I went in anyway and talked to the manager, who said he'd call me to reschedule. On someone else's advice, I also sent an email to reiterate my apologies and interest in the company. Was I too pushy? I am afraid I won't get called back to reschedule the interview. What should I do if this ever happens again?
