I had an AE order shipped to my old address because I used their automatic buy thing and forgot to change the address. What should i do?

Call their customer service department to see if they can redirect the shipment. Alternately, if it was sent by UPS or FedEx, get the tracking number and call the carrier. Notify them of the change of address. You will need the tracking number, however. If it was shipped via US Mail, the product will be returned to the sender. Customer Service can redirect after it is returned, but this could take several weeks.

Same thing happened to me with Amazon recently, so I know your panic. First i contacted Amazon and they told me they shipped it out already. Try AE to see if it has already been sent out. In my case it was, so I contacted my former local post office (the one servicing my old address) and told them my error. The postmaster was very helpful and they held my package until i completed and sent them my change of address form. My last ditch effort, had this not worked out, would have been to contact the apartment manager and tell them the error and have them talk to the new occupant on my behalf. I was pretty confident that the new occupants, knowing how many people knew this package was in route, would have turned it over. If your former address is not an apartment try to track down a phone number using Yahoo wwhite pages or something and give them a call. Hope this works out for you.

If the item has already been shipped, check your last address to see if the package had been delivered. If it has yet to be shipped make a change immediately to insure it gets to the proper address.If the item is lost due to you giving the wrong delivery address or not changing to the right delivery address you are responsible for payment.

call or email right away and let them know, if you did a address change notification with post office that stays good for one year, other wise notify them quickly
