The first paycheck we received was 2 weeks late..Then We did not get paid anymore..My car broke down and I pressed them for money..They paid me another $600 Since, I have not been able to get any money out of them. My mother lives abroad and is terminally ill. I need to travel soon before she passes and I need to travel with my two kids..Tickets are about $1700 for the 3 of us..I don't have the means since I have not been getting paid..My husband can't cover the plane costs either..since all his money goes to bills..I need to go soon and they keep telling me they don't have money..What do i do? please please please help..My mom has cancer and became paralyzed 1 week ago, I am an only child and need to go care for her ASAP...

It sounds like they're in the process of going broke. What do they say about why you haven't been paid?

You can call your state labor department and talk to the wage and hour people. But if the school is in the process of going under, that won't get you your money.

Very sorry about your mom. Any chance of borrowing the money for the plane fare? I'm not one to suggest borrowing normally, but this does sound like a true emergency.

Call the US Department of Labor. You will have your money in a few days. The givernment really doesn't like anyone who plays with payroll. What you have right now is slavery. We fought a war for that.
